Do you think the death penalty should be given to children as well?

I don't agree with anyone recieving the death penalty. As I've mentioned before it is illegal across the the whole of Europe (except Belarus I believe). However, as an adult with the IQ of a child can be executed in the US, I see no reason why a child shouldn't be able to be.

I know I'll sound awful but here goes.

I'm not a hypocrite, I believe a criminal is a criminal and if they can't be rehabilitated, or are purely a danger to society that they certainly should be. Juvenile criminals included.

If we say we won't give the death penalty to kids, because they're smaller or younger, what's stopping us from making an excuse why we can't give the death penalty to women, or to people who are disabled, yet capable enough to kill?

A killer who only wants to kill, should be killed. No matter the sex, no matter the age, no matter the reason.

Yes, especially hypocritical children. ;)

I believe so, I feel that we are all equal in a sense, and if a child does something that a adult would be put to death for, than they should as well. BUT only if the child is fully capable of knowing right from wrong. Killing is Killing. Be you an adult or a child, if the case is bad enough, the death penalty should apply in my opinion.

Nobody deserves death penalty. I am against this. And definitely not to children. Children are naive. They're growing up and learning from life. Children should be left to take their time to grow, it is what they really need.

I was with you up until you said And definitely not to children.

Why definitely not to children? If an 18 year old can kill, and be aware that he's killing, and have enough malicious intent to want to do it again, why can't a 17 year old, or a 16 year old?

The fact that you're actually against the death penalty in general aside, why should a kid who kills be treated any differently than an adult that does?

I say no because if children are given the death penalty then you are killing a life that has never reached goals, dreams, etc.

What if they already have a set goal, and that goal is one of a psychopath?

How are 17 and 18 so different from one another that at one point there, a juvenile we so much ahead of them to becoming an adult that needs to do something with their life?
