No. He's a Jesuit, sneaky, sneaky..!

But he seems better than the last guy.. Seems..... And I'm not posting in the wrong column by accident, I just did this so as that my argument would be seen, the queue in the other side was too far down :P

I don't really trust any world leader... but the Pope is also a religious leader. He should be trustworthy... but I'm not so sure if he is.

Thats how I feel, I like his secular views but them again hes a Pope, any person that claims to be a messenger of God concerns me.

Side: No

Although I admire the way he is stirring up the fears of the ultra right wing in America like Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh, he is still the leader of one of the most scumbag organizations on Earth.

The Catholic church remains today an organization that:

1. Moved pedophiles around the world and helped protect them from the law

2. Discourages condom use in Aids infested parts of africa

3. Encourages Homophobia

4. Has a palace made of gold while most the world lives in poverty

5. Denies women reproductive rights.

Side: Yes

He is the head of a corrupt, money grabbing, arguably culty religious organisation so no.

Why?

Cuz he wants atheists to burn in hell for all eternity.

Because he isn't important to the Christian faith. It's Jesus that's important not the pope.

Side: No

I can't really say that I trust or distrust him. But he is unavoidably entrenched in religion and I don't really know all that much about him.

That being said, based on what I have read about him, I like him a lot more than most popes and I hold out a little hope (pope hope?) that he could bring some much needed progression to the long changing Catholic Church.

Trust no man. Besides he is to be the last pope which was prophesied by St. Malachy many years ago. His prophecy was accurate for all of these years, therefore there is a little to no chance that he will be incorrect with this one.

What are You asking us to trust the Pope with ?

The Pope lives thousands of miles away and Is not an American. Even if He was to be entrusted with an American idea or an American task - the laws of His community and culture and society would set the standard of His course of action.
