Does AintNow widen the Gulf Between Christians and Atheists?

I have accused AintNow of actually doing more harm than good in trying to give agnostics and atheists our Testimonies on the power and Love of God and Jesus. I have claimed he actually Widens the Gulf between us Christians and the non-believers. That he is a Divider and NOT a Uniter, as I try to be. As my Unity Church tries to be. I consider myself a Progressive and Ecumenical Christian and AintNow thinks that is tantamount to being a heretic.

What do you think? If you are Atheist or Agnostic, what has AintNow done to effect your beliefs about Christians?'

God Bless. Thank you for your time.

He is the worst salesman for a cause that I've ever seen/heard. He needs to highlight the benefits/positives of Christianity, not the disadvantages/negatives of his philosophy. Threatening people with eternal damnation just doesn't work for me and, I'm sure, most others as well. Maybe if he were to dangle 70 virgins as bait, like Islam does, he might get more people's attention. He needs some more sizzle to have a chance to close the sale and burning in hell is the kind of sizzle that motivates people.

I still say, some street corner is missing its preaching fool; I suggest he go find his rightful place.

Hear hear! You summed that up very well.

Indeed, AintNows theology is most often heard from some raggedy homeless bearded guy on a street corner, clutching a Bible and a bottle of Thunderbird.

Side: Hell yeah he does!

That's exactly how I picture him, too.

If the nature of God and the state of Christianity were as AintNow espouses them to be, I would still be an Atheist and would never have wanted to come unto God. I want all you non-believers to know that most of us do not despise you or even think you are doomed to Hell. Most of us just think that perhaps you have not been exposed to the True Nature of God yet, or had a chance to really contemplate on the Teachings of Jesus. All we want to do is to give you our Testimony on how God helped us. Not say that if you do not believe as we do or take the Bible as the literal Word of God, that you are going to be cast into a Lake of Fire. This is pure fundie nonsense and actually angers most Progressive Christians like me.

Side: Hell yeah he does!

Because of narrow minded and antiquated Fundamentalist Teachings, many people, especially the young, are leaving our Churches. Here is an excellent from a book about all this, called "You Lost Me." Take three minutes to read please, as it makes my point perfectly. God Bless.

He makes me never want to talk to a religious person ever again .

Side: Hell yeah he does!

Thank you. And this is the very thought that disturbs me.

He is putting two strikes against us before we have a chance to reasonably and calmly explain our ideas to you.

God bless.

Generally when you treat people like cr@p it widens a gap. Yes. He certainly isn't winning over any new converts with his actions.

This is already a lopsided argument, but from my perspective it's this: I was born in 1971. He talks like my parents. His views are so narrow and rigid that he scares people away. Fire and brimstone have their place of course, but it seems like he's stuck on that.

Side: Hell yeah he does!

exactly. Jesus Himself told us that Pharisee-like fire and brimstone are often detrimental, and that the Sabbath was made for Man and no the other way around. Same deal with the Law. All of that old Hebrew law like we get in Dueterononmy and Leviticus is obsolete now. Man-made, meant for far different peoples in far different times. Jesus and His new Gospels supersede it.

this is why SaintNow does not speak and spread the words and teachings of Jesus. He thinks he does but wow, he is badly mistaken. His theology is suspect in my opinion

Side: Hell yeah he does!

If his religious gibberish widens the gulf any further between the faithful and the non believers it will be as big as the enormous cavity between his ears.

Side: Hell yeah he does!

Saintnow, FromWithin, and Dadman are all an anti-theist's dream come true, because they make Christianity look so hateful and batshit crazy. I think their tactics are far more effective at destroying Christianity than anything an anti-theist could ever say. So keep up the good work guys! You're inadvertently doing a great service to the world by being dicks.

Side: Hell yeah he does!

SaintNow does not reflect the average Christian in any way, shape, or form. He doesn't affect my view of Christians at all.

Side: Nah, he brings us together!

thank you. I agree. Could you please post on the other side so we can get an accurate count on this. I am doing a survey for my Church on how fundamentalist Christians can really hurt our image. Thank you.
