Does Obama deserve the time frame he is asking to make things "better"?

Obama claimed everything would be in the clear by the end of his 2nd term. He's not even made it to 2 years and people want to throw him out of office, is this fair?

It takes time to clean up eight years of garbage.

Honestly, if he wants to give it a try, he can go for it. No one else seems to have any will to change anything. Besides, he is the president. We voted him in. We have given him 4 years. If we decide later on to give him 4 more, then so be it. Those years are his, lest something arises.

Side: Definitely

It is now 2015 and the economic recession that he has inherited has made some progress but has not been fully resolved. Also, the Afghanistan War is still going on.

Why should he?

He's half done his first term; if somebody better comes next election year, then elect them. You've no assurances that he actually shall finish what he claims to be preparing for.

I think he should.

I mean if people vote for someone who says it will take 2 terms to turn things around, and he gets elected based on these ideals... isn't it hypocritical for everyone to be saying he isn't doing anything? when he is not even at the half way point?

You're missing something.

I mean if people vote for someone who says it will take 2 terms to turn things around

Or maybe he claims it'll take two terms because he want to be reelected?

and he gets elected based on these ideals

The verity of his claims are open to debate.

isn't it hypocritical for everyone to be saying he isn't doing anything?

I didn't say he isn't doing anything; I said that, if somebody better comes along, then the better man should win.

when he is not even at the half way point?

He'll be there soon.

A person loses the benefit of time when things that he promised were wrong.Nothing over 8% unemployment was promised.Transparency was promised.Over and over Obama said one thing and did another therefore he no longer gets the benefit of time.
