Does Reading Shakespearean Literature Make One Cultured?

Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

I think this question can be treated like a trick one, in that if you read Shakespearean Literature you will be more cultured than you would be if you did not read any Shakespere.

Side: Yes

If one becomes an avid fan of Shakespeare, he or she will have quotes to supply whenever faced with an opinion.

You can read all you want, but if it does not sink in, it doesn't matter. Plus, there are many other things that make a person cultured. Some of Shakespeare's works could be considered degenerate.
