The answer is NO

Without a separation between religion and government, religious freedoms would be limited, UNLESS everyone believes in the exact same religion. Since this is NOT the case, secularism is needed in order to govern fairly and equally.

Religious freedom is fundamental unless your running a cult.

Fundamentalist Islam/Sharia and caliphates preaching "Death to Unbelievers" are basically an illegitimate off shoot of Judaism and quite simply a cult.

Even the devoutly religious should be in favor of a secular society. The only way to guarantee religious freedom for all is through the separation of church and state.

The answer to the question is No because I don't believe they are even related. Anyone can be corrupted regardless of religion or religiosity.

What is Secularism?

Secularism is a principle that involves two basic propositions. The first is the strict separation of the state from religious institutions. The second is that people of different religions and beliefs are equal before the law.

Side: No

Secularism is needed to maintain a working, fair government. The separation of church and state is one of the most important things about American government.
