Does anybody really know what G20 protesters' main cause?

Is it captialism, global warmning, loss of entitlements?

What is it?

What do they accomplish by violence?

Is it captialism, global warmning, loss of entitlements?

That's the whole point: We don't know what they are talking about; yet, for me and my fellow Canadians, they are using over one billion of our tax dollars to talk about it.

What do they accomplish by violence?

A hell of a lot more than if they stood around waving signs - no politician is going to take that seriously; it's only when the politicians themselves are in danger than they give a damn.

Smashing windows of businesses doesn’t act as any sort of threat to the politicians. They have so much security, they’ll never be touched. It doesn’t do anything but hurt an already-wounded economy, and it doesn’t make anyone want to listen to them any more than they already don’t.

Of course they shan't post a direct threat to the politicians present - $1.1 billion better at least do that much! - but they are becoming more of a 'voice' with their violence.

The second the first act of violence happens, any legitimate protesters voice is silenced and any public sympathy vanishes. The public is numb to the point of the "leftist" protester, having experienced the IMF, World bank and G8/G20 riots over the years. A large problem appears that while some of the protesters points are valid, the "leaders" of most of these groups bury their real agenda inside flowery and complex ideas (i.e. we should forgive third world debt) without explaining HOW we can pay for some of the social extravagances or giving clear plans on HOW we can give back the first nation lands without screaming "BUSH LIED KIDS DIED, HALIBURTON, bla bla bla and smashing windows. It would be beneficial for them to take the same road as some of the more successful conservative protesters like the Tea Party, one of the fastest growing movements in the U.S. or the health care protests that happened before the bill was passed, but why bother when you can destroy stuff and scream police brutality, racism and homophobia.

You must be one of the stupidest peoples around if you actually think that the government gives a damn about 'peaceful protesters'.

Nobody cares what they want. They're a bunch of kids breaking windows. They accomplish nothing other than causing some minor property damage and providing entertainment for the rest of us whenever they get their heads cracked open on camera.

And do you really think a single politician gives half a turd what their supposed "cause" is? If their lives were ever in danger all that would be on their minds is making it back to the airport.

These people are fools.

Given the demographics involved, the main cause would be political outrage. It's a smaller portion of the protesters that would see the event as an excuse to break windows.

Unless of course you're grouping all the protestors together under the intent to vandalize in which case I would refer you to the coverage stating the cops made the first move by entering the circles of peaceful protestors to make arrests.
