Talking on a cell phone while driving (or performing other potentially dangerous activities) causes more injuries than phone-radiation health hazards.

Side: Yes, use sparingly.

While I agree with your 'talking while driving' point, what are the phone-radiation health hazards you are talking about?

Side: No, they are safe.

There has been an "urban legend" that the radiation emitted by a cell phone (held next to the head) causes brain tumors. This hasn't been proved.

I have the same thing in my house ,my ears ring, I have been going to a neurologist for tremors, balance problems, burning chronic pain on my skin, pain in the top of my head, sleep problems,my whole body feels as if i plugged myself into an outlet (i guess from the tremors)??? My doctor-MD said live with it your getting older and my neurologist is trying to deaden my symptoms with anti-seizure medications!!! I threw away my microwave 6 months ago and now I am definitely getting rid of the cell-phone. There is something in my house I am going to find out -even my daughter said that there was an electromagnetic field in my bedroom she could feel it.

using cell phones influence bad on our health. Firstly, it can lead to insomnia, memory disorder etc. additionally, it can lead to brain cancer. so using cell phones is very unhealthy, especially for children. because they can get illnesses five time faster than elder people. anyway, we can banned using cell phones, because nowadays it is part of our life...

but i think we should limit using cell phones to safe our health and live healthier.

Making yourself too available damages your sense of self worth and diminishes your appreciation of your friends and colleagues. Switch it off for a few hours a day. Turn off voicemail. Steer people towards email.

Side: Yes, use sparingly.

Any proof for your self worth claim?

I appreciate my friends by taking their calls - not by turning of VM and telling them to send an email.

And how exactly is communicating via email any better than on a cell phone?

Side: No, they are safe.

I've seen two studies done on the topic meant to investigate tumor risk after at 10 year use. The first study done in Sweden found the risk of brain tumors doubled, and second one found no link whatsoever. Could Cell Phone use have a negative impact? Possibly, and I happen to think so on a purely theoretical basis. However, I have yet to see any conclusive/non-contradictory empirical evidence to justify that suspicion.

Side: No, they are safe.

I have not seen a conclusive study that showed any real damage done by cell phones, used in a normal fashion.

Radiation is all around us, in various wavelengths, both natural and artificial - even before the boom of the mobile phone.

With regards to the linked article: They do not give the absolute numbers to which the 54% increase relates (always a sign for a quality concern). I think the alternative explanation that the cell phone moms don't have as much time for their kids is at least equally plausible as any physical influence of their phone use.

Side: No, they are safe.

I think those reports about health risks are just a bunch of scare tactics.
