Does cellular activity produce the mind or does the mind produce cellular activity?
There's a wealth of empirical data demonstrating an association between certain parts of the brain and certain mental processes. But it’s a chicken and egg question: Does cellular activity produce the mind, or does the mind produce cellular activity?

I just find it hard to believe that you can get life from the elements on the periodic table. I mean, why would a single cell amoeba form? Why would a bunch of cells specialize and come together to create a human body? Why would this body then become self aware? Can the internet come self aware? Do single cell amoebas think? Is it all just random movement and asexual reproduction? I think the reason we have these types of debates is because the jury is still out ;) Side: Cellular activity first

The elements on the periodic table are the building blocks used by the "mind" to create organic stuff. Organic stuff are the tools used to create a human body. The "mind" then inhabits the human body until it starts to fall apart and another body is required ;) Side: Mind first
