It is not a belief system. Do you 'believe' 1+1=2? No. You know it. You have proof of it. Some people will deny it because they are ignorant. But it has been proven. Like evolution.

And in any case, atheism isn't a religion. If you don't believe in God, and have never heard of God or religion and just live a normal life, would you still say that person is religious? No. They're not. Even someone who has studied every religion and hates them all for the same purpose is not religious, they are areligious. But that's not a word. However, atheist is. Use it.

For 1+1 to equal two you must first prove that 1=1 (two separate ones equal each other, prove it).

Prove this to me beyond any shadow of a doubt and then you can afterwards tell me that 1+1 will always equal two.

Do you really want to get in to a " Can you really prove something" debate? Because I could go on for hours about how one cannot prove anything, and if you doubt the validity or one truly being one,l then how can you be sure you exist? And I don't want to get in to another Sartre-style existentialism debate.

So what's it to be? Act like a dick and support religion, but not basic arithmetic, or accept the fact that you, and the number one ( as an intangible thing) exist?

Absolutely none of this is true.

Which 1st amendment?

No, if there is something against nature, that thing clearly violates nature, not the other way round. I.e. drug laws violate cannabis and opium poppies.

The US constitution has amendments. The 1st amendment says that Congress shall make no law against religion, press, speech, peaceably assembling, and complaining to the government. It has led to specific religious teaching being banned in schools and he is asking if allowing evolution to be taught also violates religious freedom.

Side: No

Evolution is not based on belief, it is the acceptance of evidence, you have the right to not to believe in evolution but you also have the right to believe the earth is flat, that doesnt mean we should teach the "flat earth" hypothesis in science class. If you wanna learn about creationism, learn it at church, home school, private school, etc. but public schools should teach facts, evolution is fact, not religion.
