Does money dictate our lives?

I have heard money being said to be the most precious thing to us humans.

Were those people right?

Does money have a chain around us and heavily takes priority in most if not all our decsions?

And if it does, to what extent are we under its illusionary control?

I appreciate every response to this and hope you find this question to your taste.

:)

Unfortunately, I believe money does dictate our lives. If you think about everything we do in life. We go to school to get a good education to get a goo job to get lots of money to have a nice house and car and fancy things and dine at nice restaurants and buy lots of stuff we don't need.

Now, if we stopped at the education was designed to help us be self sufficient in growing food and taking care of ourselves, then I think it would be different...but alas that is not the case!

Not necesarilly. People could simply move out of society and become self-sustained. This is a choice which money can't prevent you from making.
