The two position options in this debate are a bit extreme given the question. Money cant give us everything exactly, such as love or understanding, or non-purchasable material objects like the earth or moon or mars etc... Money does make life better, it provides a better standard of living, without it you cant eat or stay warm as a regular state and pattern of existence. Money has limits but it helps a whole lot. Money can be thought of as a kind of freeing phenomenon, but it frees us only to the limits of our emotional, legal, material, and social confines Side: money can give us everything

In the current setup of our civilization, the resources you possess are simply the quantification of the money you have.. So yeah, have more money, you'll have the finest of resources for your time of existence on this planet. One might argue money is the root of all evil but my reply to that is absence of self control is. So yeah, the idea of having papers around with no inherent value quantifies one's services of all kinds and does not limit you to possessing certain specific resources. Money can bring us everything including happiness and health if we use it properly and with good purposes. You can buy expensive healthy foods from the usps tracking number, and join health promotion departments. Using money to buy things we like and take care of our loved ones will make us happy. Money is a powerful thing. It can help you and destroy you . look at famous and rich people killing and destroying there own body if money made your life so much better they would be the happiest people in the world im not saying you should be poor all im saying is that money shoudnt be the most inportant thing in your life. Side: money is the root of all evil
Money. ::sigh:: Where do I start? I don’t agree with either polarity statements in this debate. Money can give us everything? Who is ‘us’? And what is everything? Money is the root of all evil? What makes it so? And what is evil? But anyway, I will say that I hold a negative position to the debate title assuming “our” means “our species,” and “better” means “better than we currently are.” So here is my position: Money does not make our [species’] lives better [then we have in our current state]. I can base my position on one very simple premise. A monetary system requires scarcity in order for the currency to gain value. It’s as simple as that really but I realize that this may require some sort of explanation. Resources are scarce when there are not enough of them to sustain a population. When there is scarcity in resources, not everyone will benefit from those resources (queue music for musical chairs). When there is a way to benefit from scarcity itself (profit), there is incentive to create even more scarcity reducing even further the amount of people who benefit (from both profit and resources). Also, when there is a way to benefit from scarcity, there is incentive to maintain scarcity by hoarding or preventing new innovative ideas which would reduce scarcity. As a result you have a system that not only enables, but encourages people to make profit on the suffering or hardship of others. Of course we in the US do not see this; we are virtually blind to it unless we see it for ourselves or research it. Most of our “poor” in the US have the basic necessities, refrigerator with food in it, warm home, reliable transportation… TV. The “poor” in America can complain all they want, but they are still able to have a drink of water as opposed to real poverty stricken people. My time in the Navy has allowed me to see the reality of what money does to people and to realize that Americans have no CLUE of what it means to be poor. A study done in 2008 by the World Bank Development Indicators found that approximately 80% of the world’s population live on the equivalent of ten US dollars or less per day. http://www.globalissues.org/article/26/ Sounds unbelievable, I know, but it’s the cold hard truth. on the other hand they can also damage people's lives. because of moeny there is a lot of criminals. some people theft money from another and this person becomes sad. people are even ready to kill somebody because of them. is it happiness? i don't think so Side: money is the root of all evil
i'm not talking that if we can buy things we will happy, i just showed what could happy if we don't have money. Also, what about middle class, middle class means that they have enough money to live and to buy what they need to continue their lives they need enough money, that is why they happy they have money, not much but they have. If they hadn't money they would be in poor class and they wouldn't be happy!!!! their life would be destroyed in poorest and they may die of hunger. Side: money can give us everything
