Of course we need less births per year. Especially in Third World and Under-Developed nations. And places where poverty is rampant and there is not even enough goods and services to support the existing populace. Age-old problem for us human here on the 3rd Rock: those who can most ill-afford having babies are usually the ones who breed like rats and have too many. Myself, I blame the Catholic Church for a good deal of the Earth's over-population. Well-meaning but, alas, sadly ignorant and manipulated believers, like those in Mexico and some South American countries, adhere to RCC doctrine about not allowing birth control. For example, 90% of Hispanics are Catholics. Look at Africa, the UN folks go in there and pass-out free condoms to the indigenous people, in an attempt to curb both over-population AND AIDS. (where the epidemic has now struck an amazing 30% of the population!). And what does the RCC do? Come toddling in right on the heels of the UN folks and admonish--read: scare--those poor people into believing that they will burn in hell for using contraceptives, as it goes against their sky god's will. All from one little passage in the bible about being fruitful and going forth and multiplying. Think of all the suffering that the wrongful and ignorant interpretation of that line has caused to Mankind. Wow, just wow! When will religion quit being so very deadly and dangerous? Side: Yes

1.But people are not known to live in the earth they live ON it. Are you saying that mole people only need and want? 2. The world itself is earth and all things native to it, as well as the creatures which reside on earth. I think you are conflating the term "planet" with "world". Side: Yes

I don't believe overpopulation is a problem. The more people there are, the more niche markets can exist. With a population of trillions, it would be profitable to serve people who like space-zombie musicals shot in black and white with multiple movies a year. The rate of technological growth must be correlated with the number of scientist and engineers, of which we could have more with a larger population. With more people we could have bigger projects, better products, better tech, better medicine, better art, etc. Side: No
