Engineering Colleges

I need to start looking for colleges.  I know that my most practical and most enjoyable career path would be in engineering, so I would like to narrow it down to colleges that are well-known for engineering or have good engineering progams.  I have slimmed the list of engineering fields down to mechanical, electrical, aerospace, petroleum, or civil.  If you have any advice, I'd love to hear it.

When it comes to public engineering INSTITUTIONS, there is no doubt that Georgia Tech is the best. it is one of the top 5 public institutions in the entire country.

Well my obvious answer would be MIT. It's probably the best engineering school in the nation (certainly the most well known). The only issue is it's hard as fuck to get into.

MIT is one of those high-class private schools that is really hard to get into, it is still one of the best though.

Sorry, but I am no expert on this whole college thing unfortunately. (As you may have seen from all my other debates) But my dad is a Computer Programmer (I think that is an engineering field) and he went to UCSD (failed out) and then to SDSU and now has his own very successful business and works with technical engineers all the time on those types of projects. He makes quite a lot of money running his own business like he is and went to those colleges so you might be interested in considering that? I don't know, just trying to help. Good luck!
