Evolution's Impact on Religion

In light of the overwhelming amount of evidence supporting evolution, many religions now accept it.  What religious doctrines appear to be incompatible with evolution and are there ways to reconcile them?

Religions that accept evolution: Catholic, Episcopalian, The Church of England, Greek Orthodox Church, United Methodist Church, Presbyterian, Mormon, Buddhist, and Judaism.

ADAM, EVE & ORIGINAL SIN

Catholic.com explains the Catholic church's stance on Adam, Eve, and Evolution http://www.catholic.com/tracts/adam-eve-and-evolution

It says that they accept evolution, but regarding Adam and Eve it says that it's "impermissible to dismiss the story of Adam and Eve and the fall (Gen. 2–3) as a fiction." It goes on to say that "the faithful" must believe that all people descended from Adam, the reasoning being that if you don't believe in the story of Adam and Eve then the whole concept of original sin will have to be thrown out. Their stance on evolution and Adam and Eve seem to be incompatible. How can you believe we evolved and also believe the garden of eden story and original sin. They seem incompatible. Am i missing something obvious?

It cockslapped most religions. It is entirely incompatible with any abrahamic religion and any religion that has a creation story of any kind. You cant have Adam and Eve AND evolution. It isnt possible if you know anything about evolution. I really dont know how these religions incorporate a direct contradiction to their beliefs INTO their belief set. I see it as a desperate attempt to keep their religion up to par in a modern world as people grow more intellegent and dismiss these beliefs more than ever. Its almost like keeping it "hip" and "happenin", when it really just doesnt work...Its like having a machine. All the cogs are turning (in religions case, covered in rust and just barely squeaking along), and when they put evolution into it its like taking a big ball of sticky sludge and just shoving it in a cog and gumming the whole machine up.

I think that the idea of a loving, kind god (which is what the Judeo-Christian God is claimed to be) is incompatible with evolution. It is a violent process which can only progress on the back of death. Also look at the animal kingdom certain flies have evolved to lay their eggs in the brain of an ant and then its larvae eats its way out through the brain, if that is not incompatible with a loving god i don't know what is.

If anyone can tell me how they reconcile evolution with a loving god please respond because I'll like to know how.

Excellent point. Upvote for you good sir .

I would say that pretty much all religion can be compatible with evolution, except for the wacko ones (Creativity, Scientology, etc.)

Personally, I believe evolution has opened new doors to us disproving incorrect statements found in the holy scriptures. With evolution, we now know things were around long before the initial estimated 6000 years and many other facts that can actually be backed up using evidence.

This probably has nothing to do with the given description, however I'm responding to the title of the debate here.

Evolution can get along with Religion. Evolution is just explaining a process to Christians.
