It's not a yes or no question...

So I'm answer "of course" evolution is a theory. Anyone who calls a scientific theory a fact doesn't understand how science works.

Evolution is the most comprehensive, all comprising theory we have to explain how we are the way we are at the minute. It's open to changes and restructuring. Just like any other scientific theory.

The easiest check-list to see if a theory is a good theory is that it can be proven false.

Evolution has a huge list of creatures that if found would prove the theory false.

It is, by definition, a theory. But then, so is the existence of God. The difference, however, is that there is overwhelming empirical evidence to support the theory of evolution. Conversely, there is an overwhelming LACK of evidence, empirical or otherwise, to support the existence of God.

Side: of course

Evolution is a theory just waiting to be proven sometime in the future.

Of course....evolution is a fact. There's too much evidence and documentation behind it and it's been proved that organisms change over time to better suit their environment.

Well, since you didn't pose the answers very clearly and there are no answers on this side of the column ;-)

Evolution is a theory. You can't reproduce it, so therfore it can't be proven, so therfore it is a theory.

Evolution, the change in allele frequencies between generations, happens all over the world, every single day. So does natural selection, a mechanism of evolution.

The accumulation of physical changes into the formation of subspecies and different breeds is also fairly common, and humans have been responsible for the well documented examples of this via domestication.

Larger changes like speciation have been observed, although less often, which is not surprise considering the length of time required. More commonly, we observe the aftermath of it and fill in the blanks. This is the part where conjecture and inference come in.

Are you familiar with HIV? The reason it has proven so hard to treat is because it actually mutates into different strains within the body.

Not only is it possible to reproduce, it is a serious problem that is being dealt with.
