Fate or Free Will
"Do you believe in fate, mr. Thompson?"
Remember that famous line from that blockbuster movie, The Matrix. Well, watching that movie made me think. What if fate controls our actions. What if we were not in control of our own life. You're making this argument upon the assumption that we do have free will, thus begging the question. If our lives are driven by fate, then it was fate that led Columbus to discover the Americas. If our lives are driven by free will, then Columbus freely chose to set sail, leading him to discover the Americas. If our lives are driven by free will, but Columbus erroneously believed that fate determined his life, he might have done as you suggested, lazing around and waiting for fate to get him to do whatever he needed to do. Free will is more probable because it is hard to believe that an omnipotent entity created an divine plan for some 100 billion people who inhabited the Earth at one thing and 6.5 billion today. Fate really has no argument. With 100 billion plans, that is a lot of planning. Side: free will

the argument about teens is nothing to do with fate, teens are coverened by there actions and what their parents allow them to do. That is not fate that is free will, to say that we are controlled makes our life worthless, fate is nothing but a word used by people to hide themselves FROM life! Side: free will
