I wouldn't say he's the jesus of India. Stupid tag. Insulting tbh.

Gandhi was definately a great spiritual leader, there's no doubt about it.

The thing people tend to question however is whether or not he was a great national leader. There were many negatives or disputes over the actions he took and the resulting consequences.

But when it comes to spirituality he is indeed unquestionable.

Alright, so maybe he might have been a douchebag in his spare time, but honestly, he's a large part of the reason Indians have the freedoms they do today. I mean, back then it was a tumultuous time and there was your standard racism and bigotry. At least someone decided to stop it.

i do not believe he is the "jesus of india" but he did lead a whole country to independance i mean when you really step back and think what India would be like if Gandhi had not led them to independance you will realize that despite doing some bad things he changed millions of lives for the better

The guy was basically useless and had a thing for young girls.

Yeah umm... not much to go on there. Obviously I have a bias towards him but I really don't think any of the points made were enough to say he wasn't as great as he was. Especially since he never wanted to be called Mahatma - only shows he deserves it more than if he was looking to be Mahatma.

This thing about the blacks - obviously is racist.. but based on cultural ignorance rather than dislike or hatred towards them. End of the day he was India's father not the whole world's. You haven't explained how he's useless.

Him sleeping with the girls was obviously a test for his discipline and ability to control himself. A bit wierd but ok.

Please. Bullshit is entertainment done in the style of a documentary. And their research is far from reliable. I like the show, but that is not evidence.

Also, points for your first sentence. Laughable, like if I were to say, "I would disprove you thoroughly, but I know that will only make you more stubborn."

I know peoples minds wander when they think but when you type stuff down normally there should be a point to it which leads to somewhere. I'm not sure about you but I don't think Jesus or Gandhi were just 'another human'. Their actions have had significant impact on human civilisation - which is why they are called Spiritual leaders, Sages, Great Ones etc.
