The Chinese realised that their 'cover-up' was too incredible for most people to believe so they have tried to make their whitewash more plausible by finding and then adding another 2000 deaths to their original total. There is no doubt that the covid-19 death toll in China is in the 100s of 1000s, if not the millions. Boris Johnson's stand-in Dominic Raab stated yesterday, 16/04/2020 that it WILL NOT BE BUSINESS AS USUAL WITH CHINA ONCE THE CURRENT CRISIS IS OVER. At last the penny has dropped and the leaders of the west have recognised that China needs to put it's house in order before it can continue with normal relations with the rest of the world. The Chinese dominance in the manufacturing sector occurred within my lifetime. Prior to the west permitting a potential hostile power to 'appropriate' such a large % of the mass-production industries we were more than able to produce sufficient goods to meet consumer demand and at a much higher quality. As you say, replacing China's colossus manufacturing capacity will not be easy but it can, and must be done. It's standard western 'Management by crisis'. No forward thinking, no consideration of the medium and long term consequences of OUT-SOURCING and absolutely no long term strategy. Side: Bio lab gone wrong

Oh shut up you lowbrow idiot. Most intelligent people live in a world where facts and evidence are what matter, not borrowing pompous language out of an online thesaurus. The same thing is happening all over the world if you'd bothered to look. There are bottlenecks in the healthcare figures because people are dying faster than the system can keep up with.
