Global warming is just political correctness to the extreme

Global warming is polarised because you have to believe in it to be accepted. It has become a political argument with most people not having a clue as to the truth but rather agreeing with it because they think they look more intelligent

It is a lie - there is no evidence that really supports this - come on look at the weather today - last two years with such cold winters

First you need to look globally not locally. Weather always fluctuates and as the world warms the weather will become more chaotic, it will not be a nice smooth warming.

Where I live this winter has been remarkably warm, that means nothing on its own. We need to look at temperatures across the globe and all through the ecosphere.

"last two years with such cold winters"

You have no idea what you are talking about, cold winters don't imply anything, this only shows a complete lack of any basic understanding of science. This is not a matter of opinion, this is matter of scientific fact, it isn't like "what's your favourite ice cream flavour?", there is no room for subjectivity here. Your opinion is worthless.

I'm constantly amazed at the willingness of some to believe entities with an obvious reason to distort fact and who do so with no scientific basis over those entities with absolutely nothing to gain by distorting fact and who do use science and observation to come to these conclusions.

Global warming is real, there is more than ample evidence pointing to humans as the cause of global warming.

There is absolutely nothing to be gained by making up global warming. Big oil corporations and big energy corporations, the sole source of all the easily disproven research countering this, have everything to gain by lying to and deceiving people about the state of the Earth's overall tempurature change.

Don't be such a sucker for their bs.

All I can say is RUBISH - where is your evidence - I will tell you because you have been told by another brainwashed idiot. Do you really think that man could affect the temperature of the planet. NO HE CANT!

... holy shit you're stupid.

I've provided links, Bohemian provided an even more telling link on the other side. Where is your evidence countering these? If your evidence is your brain and feelings I'm afraid neither are the least bit accurate, demonstratably so from all of your arguments so far.

"All I can say is RUBISH - where is your evidence - I will tell you because you have been told by another brainwashed idiot."

My God, where do you people come from? Please let me try to educate you, please!!!!

Firstly, Global warming is a reality, whether this is happening or not is no longer being seriously discussed, the earth is warming, and the climate is changing, even the most respected people who don't beleive in anthropogenic warming will not dispute this.Global warming and climate change is a reality. The data doesn't lie, this is an established fact, get over it.

"Do you really think that man could affect the temperature of the planet."

Now to the substantive issue. Once a pattern has been established in science the burden of proof rests with those who beleive it does not hold. Scientists have been studying this for a long time, all the evidence all the data, all the computer models, the overwhelming majoirty of the expert opinion points to anthropogenic warming. Let me dumb it down for you so you can wrap your mind around it.

The facts are the following:

(1.) Large increases (relative to natural dynamic equilibrium) in a gas (known as CO2 or carbon dioxide) which is known to trap heat due to its reflective and refractive properties have taken place in the earths atmosphere due to human activity. Since the industrial revolution man has been spewing large volumes of CO2 at an exponential rate into the atmosphere, the currentl concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is 392 ppm, CO2 levels were about 260–280 ppm immediately before industrial emissions began, contrast these two figures, and realise how upset the balance has become.

(2.) The global mean temperature has risen significantly in the same time that said activities have been talking place. This has been measured and verified, it is not up for dispute that the earth started warming right about the time that we started spewing CO2 into its atmosphere.

(3.)The established correlation between CO2 emissions and global mean temperature is very very strong. The trends of the curve's representing CO2 rise and rise in global mean temperature, which try to represent phenomena that are so complex they are almost irreducible, are practically the mirror image of oneanother.

These facts form the basis by which the overwhelming majority of the worlds scientific community have concluded that correlation = causation i.e. manmade or anthropogenic warming is a reality.

"NO HE CANT!"

You are quite simply a fool of tremendous proportions, the fact you couldn't even distinguish between global warming (which isn't being disputed by anyone) and anthropogenic warming (which is still argued mainly by lobbyists for major gas and oils companies who have significant political backing in the US, and tiny handful of scattered scientists who are afraid to take a plunge until further more compelling evidence surfaces).

In the US the campaign of disinformation has been relentless to the point that most common people can't differentiate between truth and lie (this is true of much of US political discourse due to the unbeleivable levels of propaganda the people are subjected to).

The world is warming, tat is obvious. The question is more whether humans are the cause, well to be honest I am not sure, but I am good with the idea of trying to stop or slow it. We have radically altered our world and I am surprised the impact in terms of climate has not been bigger.

If the climate changes we will survive, we will adapt, but it will be less pleasant and simply refusing to try is not helping anyone.

Also in what possible way is it political correctness?

Global warming is just the rise in temperature of the Earth's climate.

I think what is the lie is the anti-global warming lobby to pass legislation that will hurt small business and help the "green" corporations that stand to benefit from this trampling of competition.

But hey, this is nothing new. The EPA has harmed small business and has done little to nothing to actually divert "man-made" global warming.

"I think what is the lie is the anti-global warming lobby to pass legislation that will hurt small business and help the "green" corporations that stand to benefit from this trampling of competition"

You are clearly ignorant of the science behind anthropogenic warming then.

"The EPA has harmed small business and has done little to nothing to actually divert "man-made" global warming."

Are you saying you beleive global warming to be primarily the result of human activities?

I believe that there is a good amount to data to suggest that humans are behind much of global warming.

However, this doesn't mean that we are the sole cause or that we can do anything about it. And what the EPA has done is just favor corporate lobbies that wish to trample competition that can't go green (primarily small business, for varied reasons).

Side: Global warming is real

"Global warming is polarised because you have to believe in it to be accepted". Acceptance is not telling of truth. Global warming (to varying degrees) is accepted by all reputable scientists because of data collected and calculated by machinery and mathematics far more sophisticated than your sham argument.

Side: Global warming is real

In my opinion any one that argues with an unprecendented scientific consesus is either extremely intelligent, or else they are dim witted and opinionated, and have little or no facts to back up their opinions. Of the two classifications, as most who read this will guess, the later is the dominant class of people who deny anthropogenic warming.

Even qualified scpetics accept that the concensus is against them, sadly this escapes most climate deniers.
