God Allows Suffering: Good or Bad

Debators say that God is worse because God allows the suffering. But have you ever thought that maybe allowing people to suffer is a good thing?

Maybe God is trying to show us what is bad so WE can do something about it and evolve into a more peaceful and right minded society. We are his children and like a parent, maybe he is trying to teach us something. Teaching your children is love.

We can't blame God for the things we especially neglect. I for one don't give a damn mostly for kids starving in africa. But i shouldn't complain "God is worse" when i for one isn't doing anything. That is one sided and hypocritical.

I think maybe he allows suffering because he loves us. By allowing suffering, we learn. And we become more compassionate...well that isn't true for me in the long run.

It is a good thing because, God can use somebodies suffering testimonies to bring somebody to the Gospel. It also should be noted that, somebodies testimony of their own suffering can help the current individual get out of their suffering because, they might be suffering the same thing that somebody else just got over it. It also bring us closer to God because, then we would know how to handle the situation next time, and at the end of the suffering it can bring someone closer to God, because of that suffering.

You mean like little girls who are abducted, raped and tortured for days inside somebody's basement before dying a slow and painful death from starvation and infection give testimony to help other little girls who are raped and tortured inside somebody's basement for days before dying a slow and painful death from starvation and infection "get out of their suffering"?

Yeah, those who came out of their own suffering who have come to Christ and it doesn't always have to be someone who was suffering like them it can be many different things.

bring somebody to the Gospel

Can't God also take away suffering to bring people to the Gospel?

It also should be noted that, somebodies testimony of their own suffering can help the current individual get out of their suffering because, they might be suffering the same thing that somebody else just got over it.

So, if someone is able to get away from their suffering it can inspire someone else to get away from their suffering. But, if there is no suffering at all, this doesn't apply.

It also bring us closer to God because, then we would know how to handle the situation next time, and at the end of the suffering it can bring someone closer to God, because of that suffering.

It is ok for a being to basically torture people so that the people will like that being more.

Thanks for the uplifting post.

He could have just made us all compassionate . If that's what he wanted.

People don't realize what true suffering is until something really fucked up happens to them.

Ohhhh! When I was out of a job, almost out of money, getting to the point where I couldn't pay my bills the lord came to me to end my suffering. I found a new job thankfully.

Praise the Lord! Pffft please. You people don't have real problems.

I don't think that is true love tho if he just made us into compassionate beings. He allowed us to choose that for ourselves. ... but then again, i am a hypocrite saying that because i do not believe in free will most of the time.

Refer to my other post and you will see that there is no free will .

And I guess getting brutally beaten by a psychopath would definitely be for the greater good of humanity.

God allowed such a being to come into existence. Why should I go worship the thing that caused the suffering in the first place? rhetorical question.

Oh Lordy! Please send upon me thine guidance through the blunt object of a psychopath! Lordy! Lordy!

Every evil has a good side to it if we are willing to unlock it. If we take precautions next time to prevent a similar attack, then that will be the unlocked good. We thus learned from the evil to prevent future evil from happening. I think that is one legitimate reason to thank evil.

Think of all the possibilities within the box.

How am i going to prevent a completely random attack that can happen at any given second? You could take all of the precautions to prevent something to the point where it would just be unenjoyable to live.

You just don't know when that shit is gonna happen.

Like how to prevent a lightning bolt from striking you?

Remember God created and knows what's gonna happen. From start to finish he knew. Therefore he creates what happens. He creates our hateful thoughts towards him. EVERYTHING. "You can say no! satan does that!", but remember he created satan and knew what was gonna happen...yada yada yada. They say he wants us to worship him to get to heaven, but remember he has decided all of this already.

All of it is just so contradicting.

And I am speaking from a biblical perspective. Using the knowledge I have learned from getting scriptures preached at me and in-depth questioning of religious people.

The thing about religion is that alot of them have a bunch of what I call "belief defense mechanisms" that are in the bible to brainwash those who can only regurgitate what they hear with no application.

Example:

Me: God created satan and knew everything that was going to happen. Therefore he created evil.

Brainwashed Guy: No god did not create evil! It says in this scripture here that when satan came to this world so did sin. Therefore satan created sin.

No application. Just regurgitation.

The Christian God can't be real.

Ok, now if you really, truly have to have animals eating each other, if that is essential to life ( which I doubt) why would you give the animal being eaten such a complex nervous system so that he feels the pain when being eaten. Why give it emotions so it dies in panic and fear? Is that really necessary?
