Going to Bed Without Supper

Back in the past, some kids were punished with having to go to bed without supper.

Question:  If you are a parent, could you punish your children this way?

I was and in retrospect and consideration of life in those times it was a better way of being disciplined than being spanked

Side: Yes

Yes, as I don't have supper and supper is a bad habit that allows the person to eat an night when their stomachs should be resting

Side: Yes

No. And I wouldn't. Punishing people in that way doesn't make a lot of sense to me. How does it teach anyone why what they're doing is wrong?

Sometimes it's too hard to get children to understand why their behavior is wrong or the parent is too dumb to explain why it's wrong, and so they must show them that if behavior leads to bad consequences, then it is wrong behavior.

Things that society consider's 'good' often lead to bad consequences. Should we discourage children from anything that doesn't lead to personal gain/satisfaction?

I was a victim many times, I would not do it. Still, I think todays PC parents are a bit TOO PC. There are STILL some children around who need some serious discipline, and should get it!
