Happiness Now or Later?

Should people try to become temporarily happy now or work for a longer lasting happiness later in life?

My take on happiness is that one is better off seizing happiness when it comes to us. We gain nothing by waiting until the right time to seek our happiness. This is not to say that we should not act wisely when we can and should, i.e. getting married at a very young age. I would say that happiness is very different at various points in our lives and what made us ecstatically happy when we were 16 will no longer suffice as we get older. Maturity will let us know what makes us happy and when the time is right to marry, have children and all the rest...but don't give up one moment of happiness by waiting. Enjoy the happiness you have now and know that it will evolve into something greater and more lasting as time goes by.

I am not fond of worrying about what tomorrow would bring so I am not really worrying about if the future holds ultimate happiness or not. I enjoy living life every single day, and I try to find contentment with little things that comes my way. Live each day as if it were your last, and tell every single person close to your heart how much you cared for them and you will both have happiness and contentment. Let tomorrow worry about itself.

Life is too short so live life like each day is going to be your last.

When you say a temporary happiness now, I feel like this could be considered drugs, etc. I think it'd be better to work now and end your life happy than to party now and enjoy life, but live the rest of you life unhappy. Get the bad over with before the good! :) (aka. Save the best for last)
