In the case you site, a guy with a gun literally saved the rest of the kids. Without him, the rest of them die. A group of non-responding morons doesn't erase that fact. Are you fucking stupid?

I'm waiting for afresh news bulletin explaining how the rescue team of yellow-bellied brainless shitbags didn't want to enter the classroom where the gunman was murdering children at will, because they had ordered a carry-out from Mc Donald's and thought they'd wait until it was safely delivered so they could have a PIG-IN before attempting to save the surviving pupils and recover the dead bodies of the slaughtered children.
This unequalled tragic fiasco is an indictment on Texas, the police and indeed the whole of America.

Let me know which piece of this confuses you. If you don't protect the kids, you aren't a good guy with a gun. The person who killed the shooter was a good guy with a gun. You're not going to post your solution that leaves out the good guy with the gun because you're either a dumbass or an evil piece of shit. Maybe both.

Clearly the police and security staff were poorly trained and the wrong personnel, including their leader(s) were included in the rescue team.
I certainly haven't the answer as how to best respond to such heart-breaking events in my back pocket but each precinct should have a *specialist, highly trained RAPID RESPONSE TEAM of hand picked, psychologically profiled officers that will snap into decisive and effective action immediately the red light flashes.

I'm getting the weirdest feeling, that the right wingers here are saying that even though 19 cops HID in the hallway for an hour while children were being murdered, if ONE cop finally does his duty and kills the bad guy, that's all the proof we need that the cops are the good guys.
No one has said that. No one on Earth pretends all cops are good. You are deflecting to a strawman because you can't figure out any other way to protect kids other than some good guy with a gun doing something. You haven't listed how to do it without the "good guy with a gun" because you wanna pretend magic answers exist within feelings and intentions instead of using your brain. 19 cops were cowards. Getting rid of "good guys with guns" would have just stopped the 20th law enforcement officer from protecting the rest of the kids. The fact that basic common sense doesn't penetrate your brain is mind numbing and sickening to entertain.
