Have you ever had someone want to add you as a friend because you're on the leaderboard?
I have just because I am one of the top scores of the games I play.

I believe that I have been in such situation, acting as both someone who is added as a friend, and also as someone who adds the "top-scorer." There is a simple logic behind this situation. Anyone who is addicted with and committed to winning a certain game, would do anything to be able to do well in that game. This sort of people, especially beginners, would see that the top-scorers are those who have understood how to do well in the game. These people would love to know how to be as good as these top-scorers, what their secrets of winning this game are. They add these top-scorers as friends, hoping that they can receive couples of info on how to win that game, considering that they know these people can certainly help them with the game. Therefore, we can say that these people only add the top-scorers to improve their performance in gaming, in disguise of wanting to get some new friends. Side: yes
