Have you ever realized;

The brain named itself.

It originally wanted to be called "Brian", but somebody made a spelling error.

Actually... Its more accurate to say our minds named themselves. All animals have brains but not all of them have named theirs.

But saying it in the third-person adds on a powerful effect. And saying 'The mind named itself' just sounds to broad and 'close.'

We are all animals, and whose to say that all animals haven't named themselves? Apes, Elephants, Dolphins- their brains work at a higher order than most animals, and have been noted to recognize themselves in a reflection. Of course, they would't directly verbally name themselves, but they are conscious enough to say that this feeling of living, in relation to death, is thought of as such and such which is different to such and such.

What comes up with everything we think of? Our minds. Our minds came up with mind. Also, our minds is who we are, it's what makes us human the most.

Animals have not named themselves. Names aren't necessary for recognition. And recognition is not the same as having names.

In a reflection? So they say, "I'm looking at myself", immediately follows a response, "Yes I am, 'Rex'"? Recognizing themselves only shows they have a bit of intelligence.

but they are conscious enough to say that this feeling of living, in relation to death, is thought of as such and such which is different to such and such.

You might want to translate this into human. Or rather don't, it's completely irrelevant to the debate.

This is such a deep, thought-provoking statement.. I need a couple of hours to digest what I have just learned.
