Heaven would suck! (Read Descript)
In heaven, it would just all be G rated! There would be no sexy, no dangerous, and no individuality since people who want to know how to draw can just wish it from God, making it unfair for people who already knew how to draw! There would also be dilemas with family; such as if your family wanted to live with you in the same mansion but you wanted to live in your own mansion! And what would happen if you did something bad up there? You're human, you can't keep from not sinning for eternity. And if for some reason you were unable to commit sins up there, wouldn't it take away from who you are? You'd just end up being a robot without true free will, which is not a life worth living at all! And what if you had non-believing friends/family burning in hell for eternity underneath you? How could you live for eternity in heaven with that guilt!
You know what? I don't even want to talk about hell because it is so OBVIOUS that hell is worse than everything!-----------------------------------------------So THAT'S WHY this debate is about how BORING Heaven would be.
Personally, I don't believe in heaven but based on this description and another one I saw a while back, heaven would definitely be boring. Unless, of course, everyone got their own personal heaven. In that case, mine would be quite fun.
HEY, there was a debate about spending an eternity with a mild annoyance would be the worse existence EVER. If you stack on all the points I have argued in the description, wouldn't you agree that spending an eternity with them WOULD MAKE HEAVEN SUCK?
I'm thinking eternal glory with God himself would be slightly better than mortal life.
But yet again, the name of the debate is not about whether Heaven is better than Hell. It is about whether it is boring or not. So let's start talking about that.
No, the 68 litres of cheap wine I just consumed is.
But yet again, the name of the debate is not about whether Heaven is better than Hell. It is about whether it is boring or not. So let's start talking about that.
OK. In which case, I use the Divine Comedy as my reference. In heaven one can achieve infinite knowledge, and chill with God, if they're virtuous enough. That good enough for you?
Infinite knowledge would be cool, bad, ugly, awkward, sickening and interesting in all aspects of existence. And knowing everything would no longer make any thing worth it. It would also eliminate free-will, as you will know the actions people will take, either in Heaven, Earth, or Hell.
A beard? Implying he is of one gender. In this case male, that would cause outrage among all the feminists in heaven (if there are any).
And would bring into question why he belongs to any gender anyway, since that would mean he would have no use for his holy schwang. Christianity is a religion of monotheism, so there are no Goddesses around to bang. I think he may be a virgin for eternity- which will make him sad and awkward- which will make other people feel awkward around him- which would make spending an eternity with him... weird.
Actually, it must be massive, right? I mean, God was all the way in heaven, while Mary was on Earth. I wouldn't have confidence issues about a transdimensional shlong.
My perception of a worm is much like an elongated bobbit worm. But what if I told you, he was omnipresent? Which creepily means he is inside mary, around her, over her, under her, beside her and through her at all times.
LOL what else would heaven be? All most of my points are valid- such as 'family and friends who are non-believers will burn in hell. I also consider both sides such as 'can we refrain from sinning up there for so long' and 'would you be unable to sin?- and then the following question- if you were unable to sin, wouldn't you be a robot without free will? And then there are cases based on assumption when 'if I was born with a gift, and other people had yearned for that gift, would they simply ask God for that gift, no longer making me special? :('
Actually, just read the description again. I raise correct points about heaven. Dispute them correctly before calling me an ignorant nitwit, ignorant nitwit! You probably didn't even bother reading the description.
Umm.. compared to hell? Heaven is heaven. Even not compared to hell, heaven is amazing. Besides, you don't have to go to heaven, so I don't see why you're complaining.
But I support how you would support the opposite side. It really demonstrates individuality and personal opinion which is lacking in today's religious minds.
I think that if hell were to exist it would be the absence of all. That's beside the point. I completely disagree with this point on the grounds that heaven would be whatever the person in question made it to be. It is eutopia, the peace at the end of a world filled with misery (in theory). From that we can gather that if, say you had an issue with your family where you didn't want them to be a part of your afterlife then they wouldn't be. As far as lines drawn, I am pretty sure it would again be whatever you made it out to be.
Heaven would be a better place since based form the promises made from the current scripture it is a place of eternal joy without suffering. One may not truly be accurate from describing heaven and may not term it as boring since no body has been through heaven and back to tell the tale. Comparing it to the proven facts, per say earth. Earth right now is filled with misery, pain, and sorrow but it is also filled with love and happiness. With that said, a place only filled with happiness would be much more desirable. The extent of what heaven can offer would not be measured since no one has been there. As such, one that promises something better than this place surely is a place to go on.
