Hillary Insults Bernie's Basement Brigade
Oh The Humanity Of It All!
In a recently released recording, Hillary makes it known what she really thinks about Bernie Sander's Supporters.
"Some are new to politics completely. They’re children of the Great Recession. And they are living in their parents’ basement. They feel they got their education and the jobs that are available to them are not at all what they envisioned for themselves. And they don’t see much of a future. I met with a group of young black millennials today and you know one of the young women said, “You know, none of us feel that we have the job that we should have gotten out of college. And we don’t believe the job market is going to give us much of a chance.” So that is a mindset that is really affecting their politics. And so if you’re feeling like you’re consigned to, you know, being a barista, or you know, some other job that doesn’t pay a lot, and doesn’t have some other ladder of opportunity attached to it, then the idea that maybe, just maybe, you could be part of a political revolution is pretty appealing. So I think we should all be really understanding of that and should try to do the best we can not to be, you know, a wet blanket on idealism. We want people to be idealistic. We want them to set big goals. But to take what we can achieve now and try to present them as bigger goals.
Basket of deplorables, basement dwellers; it seems Hillary is an equal opportunity offender on both sides of the political aisle. I think she feels that We, the People, are beneath her as evidenced by her recent slips of telling the truth about her opinion on voters. This one, however, is beyond stupid; she is insulting the very people she's trying to woo- DUMB!
Should Hillary apologize to Bernie's basement brigade, or just let it ride?
Hillary has a low opinion of people in general as evidenced by these outbursts and reports of her treatment of those around her. She will drag all those who chose to associate with her into the gutter as evidenced by the email scandal and all those involved are subject to being thrown under the bus as sacrificial lambs. It's very dangerous to be associated with them.
It is a fact that many millennials are still living at home. This one isn't actually her opinion. She is trying to appeal to the voters who are literally living in their parents basement.
Except nothing she said "insults" those of us who are Sanders supporters. She correctly started it off by referring to "Some", then described that "some" correctly: that many live with their parents, that they are dissatisfied with the job market, and that such a state of affairs makes someone more likely to follow a candidate that advocates more extreme change.
Why do you feel the need to dishonestly characterize her statements, exactly?
What is so pathetic, is that Hillary is proving what a failed job this Democrat administration has done creating real paying jobs for Americans. It's tough creating jobs when their goal has been transforming America, pushing Obamacare, forcing mandates on our job creators, etc. etc.
Speaking out of one side of her mouth, she supports the accomplishments of Obama's two excruciatingly long terms, while at the same time describing the miserable state of affairs with out econmy and pathetic job growth for decent paying jobs.
"After decades of broken politics in Washington, and eight years of failed policies from George W. Bush, and 21 months of a campaign that's taken us from the rocky coast of Maine to the sunshine of California, we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.
"In five days, you can turn the page on policies that put greed and irresponsibility on Wall Street before the hard work and sacrifice of folks on Main Street. In five days, you can choose policies that invest in our middle class, and create new jobs, and grow this economy, so that everyone has a chance to succeed, not just the CEO, but the secretary and janitor, not just the factory owner, but the men and women on the factory floor."
That's my point. FromWithin said that the Obama economy didn't create jobs. Figures about income growth for people who already have jobs doesn't address the issue that jobs weren't created.
Government has created how many jobs in the private sector ? Is it government's job to create private sector jobs ? What does the government know about creating private sector jobs ?
Household income growth usually predominantly affects already established individuals (i.e. people with income). These people in question are seeing increased costs of living and education costs before getting a source of income, and thus aren't affected by this growth.
The GDP has gone up by the actual amount that it went up for Clinton and Bush. Each new president gets worse based on percentage of GDP because each one inherits a bigger GDP.
US GDP Growth Revised Up to 1.4% in Q2. The US economy expanded an annualized 1.4 percent on quarter in the three months to June of 2016, better than a second estimate of 1.1 percent. It is the strongest growth rate in three quarters.
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — The U.S. economy grew at a lackluster 1.1% pace in the second quarter, a touch slower than previously reported, in a period marked by weak business investment and government spending.
The big news: corporate profits fell again. Adjusted pretax earnings dropped 1.2% to mark the fifth decline in the past six quarters, the Commerce Department reported. Unless profits turn up again, the economy is unlikely to grow much faster.
Yet by and large, the government’s second recalculation of gross domestic product in the April to June period showed few major changes. Initially GDP was estimate to have expanded at a 1.2% annual rate.
Not really. FromWithin has historically repeated this claim that the only jobs being created are low paying. One can contradict that claim with statistics like these without attempting to contradict every claim he made about the economy.
