Rusty do you idiots remember anything ?????????? The question is, how big of a problem is this for Mattis' confirmation chances? A few Democrats have already weighed in. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York issued a statement Thursday, saying: "While I deeply respect General Mattis's service, I will oppose a waiver. Civilian control of our military is a fundamental principle of American democracy, and I will not vote for an exception to this rule." The top Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee, Adam Smith of Washington, says hearings will be needed if he is to support a waiver: "[While] I like and respect General Mattis a great deal, the House of Representatives would have to perform a full review, including hearings by the Armed Services Committee, if it were to consider overriding the statutory prohibition on recent military officers serving as the Secretary of Defense." Now you Demorats have a love for Mad Dog ? You Dummies have nothing but Double Standards because that is what is fed to you by your Media and your Politicians ! Side: Trump can do no wrong
I've never been in favor of military coups, but, I'm DEFINATLY not in favor of a totalitarian government! Sometimes we DO need to choose the lesser of two evils! DIZZY AL babbles again!!!!!! Washington – Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy on Thursday voted against granting retired Marine Gen. James Mattis a waiver that would allow him to serve as President-elect Donald Trump’s secretary of defense. Earlier in the day, Blumenthal was one of only three members of the Senate Armed Services Committee to vote against granting the waiver, which is needed because the law allows only those who have been retired from the military for at least seven years to serve as secretary of defense. Mattis has been retired for four years. Twenty-four Republicans and Democrats voted for the waiver. Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., were the other two who voted against it. What is the about face love for Mad Dog now DIZZY AL ??????????? Side: Trump can do no wrong
But Mattis’s greater political sin may be his penchant for bipartisanship. According to Politico, Mattis has repeatedly suggested placing appointees and staffers from the Obama and Clinton administrations in top posts in the Defense Department—a move that has rubbed many Trump allies the wrong way, given the premium the president places on loyalty and the widespread belief on the right that Obama-era holdovers are to blame for many of the leaks that have undermined his first two months in office. Mattis, however, has made several requests to place these picks in top-level spots, ranging from undersecretary to his own deputy. “ Is the above the reason for showing love for Mattis now ????????? https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2017/03/ Side: Trump can do no wrong

How do ya feel about the last adult leaving the room? The Democrats told us he was a Nazi. Now he's the "last adult". Interesting considering that the Democrat adults say things like "get up in someone's face", "run em out of restaurants", "when they go low, we kick em". Side: Trump can do no wrong
The poor Democrats are melting down on Mad Dog Mattis leaving in February. They have a very short memory. A look back at just 2 years ago. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) will require a vote at a 60-vote threshold to allow Mattis to become the defense secretary, an aide said. That makes the retired four-star general the only Cabinet nomination of Donald Trump’s that Democrats can unilaterally block thus far. Side: We NEED General Mattis

Everything will be fine. The left overplays everything he does to the negative side to the nth degree. No matter what Trump does, the left will take the opposite stance. So, my recommendation to Trump would be to take an anti-wall stance and see the left extol the virtues of said wall and demand that it be built. Side: Trump can do no wrong

If I remember correctly, Mattis was in support of bombing Syria every time the hoax about 'Assad gassing his own people' went viral. Those allegations have turned out to be pure propaganda. They also obsiously made no sense from the military point of view. This hardly qualifies Mattis as 'the last adult in the room'. Side: Trump can do no wrong
