How has the US lost respect from the world after interfering in the Vietnam war?

I don't think the way rest of the world thinks about American people has changed but the way they think of the US government and policy is due to as others have pointed out America feeling it needs to police force the world and foreign policy is little more than acting like a bully in the sandbox. I also think that the stories that came out of Vietnam and the way it was perceived that the veterans of that war were treated on their return hasn't helped, but then trust and respect for governments worldwide has declined over the years and if someone doesn't trust and respect their own government their not likely to trust someone else's. |
