How is the new Facebook better/worse than the old?

What changes were made? Were they good?

Please give specific reasons for why it's better or worse, not just "I love/hate it."

It works better on wide screens. This is pretty obvious. The old one took up a puny little side area of my screen. Totally not efficient.

It's awesome how you can comment on pretty much everything. Before, you could only really do this for posted items and notes. Now you can comment on added friends, statuses (this is a HUGE plus), things you do, etc. I only wish it also let you comment on another person's wall post...

The new home page is awesome. The new ways to view news by application, friend group, etc. is pretty neat. Plus the "Live Feed" feature lets people stalk (err...keep up to date on) on friends.

It is organized better. This is probably the point a lot of people will disagree with me about. I guess it has a lot to do with personal preference. For me, I think the way they made it easy to edit your profile/wall settings while on the same page makes a lot of sense.

Applications are easier to manage. Now all your applications can be viewed in one nice, neat little list with stars next to them if they're bookmarked, etc. And you can mass-edit permissions. I'm not so sure why they moved the applications tab to the bottom left, though. It was fine on the upper bar.

It doesn't work on the iPhone!!! I used to go onto the regular Facebook on my iPhone to do stuff like editing picture tags that you couldn't do on the mobile version. This new facebook uses a icky combo of lots of AJAX, JavaScript, and Flash. Which looks good on a computer but totally kills my poor iphone browser.

I also have it on good authority that the iPhone will never support Flash, so it won't ever get any better.

The Facebook iPhone app does not offer a comparable experience either (in fact, it has a rather limited feature set). It would be awesome it the Facebook app did everything that the website does.

Tagged photos are extremely difficult to find if you have not uploaded your own photos. For some reason, the view photos of so-and-so doesn't show up if that person hasn't added any of their own photos, making it extremely hard to find their tagged photos.

It's hard to jump quickly to old wall posts. Now instead of clicking "page 5" or something, you have to click "view more"..."view more"..."view more"... 5 times. I don't usually go back that far, but sometimes it's a nice thing to have. Plus you can keep your orientation a lot better.
