Why stop loving that person?

Just because you can't have a person romantically doesn't mean you can't love them.

Maybe telling them or acting on it is a bad idea, but if you care about a person, then don't stop caring just for that reason.

If a person hurts you, sure, but for this reason? Be a friend they can count on.

It depends on multiple things, its different with everybody. It can depend on how much you loved them, how easy you can get over someone. I've felt your pain and I know it hurts but I'm sure one day the right one will come along. Love is a drug, the key to a healthy love is for it to be "recreational", you can't be "addicted", it should be beneficial without it being a necessity. When you break up with someone, you go through "withdrawal" symptoms. Love is a unique drug where going without it can be completely is unhealthy, when love isn't healthy you might as well go without it. Don't give up, so maybe the person you love isn't for you, with 7 billion people on this planet, there is more than a handful of your "one true love". so get out there and search for your "one true love" keep yourself open for the bliss of finding that special someone as it will make a huge difference in life, but keep yourself open that nobody is guaranteed to be your "destined lover". I have confidence in you girl, be strong, and don't give up. :)

Love is a chemical reaction, if the reaction is stopped for whatever reason, the love stops.

It takes quite some time. Before meeting my wife, I had been in love with someone prior. Although, I took too long before making a move and then she got more and more less interested of me. It was a harsh lesson learned and so, I took about a month to recover. But, its not like I was torn apart by this, it just made me feel a bit depressed. Even I, myself, lost interest in her. Guess we were never ment to be.
