How's Global Warming going to play out?

Global warming is a serious problem.  Yet solving it will require every major country in the world to take strong action.  Will we be able to fix the problem before it's too late?

This debate assumes that global warming is real and that man is significantly contributing to it.  If you wish to object to that please consult this Wikipedia Faq first.

what i think is the only way to solve this global warming problem is nanotechnology

it really makes things stronger and better, so you wot change your electronic appliances until years. that adds a lot.

since by using it our emissions rates would decrease well be happy to see the earth bloom green back

As much as I would like to think otherwise, I don't think all the major countries of the world will do enough to combat global warming. There is too much short-term benefit to doing little or nothing. Spending money to meet long-term challenges always faces massive political resistance.

I think we're mainly going to have to rely on expensive programs to adapt to a hotter world. And I think the third world is screwed.

I think the best solution to global warming would be a global governmental body with the power to compel or at least strongly influence other nations to reduce emissions. I don't however see any countries ceding that kind of power any time soon.

I agree with you that nothing tangible is going to get done. I think the world will get hotter until it gets angry at us and tries to kill us. ;)

Also, on the off chance that Obama tries to do something about tangible about GW, I think that there will be a military intervention and we'll be back to square one ;)

Both global warming and global cooling were cyclical phenomena prior to man.

The next argument will be about whether or not the trapped radiation within the Earth's atmosphere is affecting the Earth's mass and consequently altering the Moon's orbit.

I see you overlooked my request to check the Wikipedia FAQ:

Q: Doesn't the climate vary even without human activity?

A: Indeed, climate varies both with and without humans. But the fact that natural variations occur doesn't mean that human-induced changes can't also occur and vice versa.

Don't assume that a FAQ for idiots can address my assertions about man-made GW.
