We are social human animals and need to connect in order to learn

Research has proven that the sum of group interaction is far greater than that of the individual.

Yes, it has been tested (cruelly) If a baby does not interact with other people, it will die. btw, What idiot did that test? I really would love to punch him!

The human connection was at one time a prerequisite for survival. We are not well equipped to hunt nor to defend alone. Tens of thousands of years of natural selection have left us unaccustomed to being alone.

Generally speaking, the human being is a pro-social animal that relies upon connections with other human beings. There are arguably some psychological anomalies to that norm however, particularly within the antisocial personality spectrum.

One must also consider what constitutes a "need" - is it merely survival or something more? Because strictly speaking, there are numerous cases of human survival in isolation though one would be hard pressed to consider the quality of life to have been very good.

Would a human who has never had any connections to other humans over the span of its life rely on these connections or undergo certain psychological complications that socially deprived people do?

I think it really depends on the neurocognitive disposition of the person in question. For the neurodiverse who do not need significant connection, social deprivation likely would not be especially adverse for them. For the larger population which does require greater connection it obviously would have considerable negative impact on their development.
