Humor me for a moment: What if it turns out Religion is just a big prank?

If you are not seriously considering how life would be if every religion turned out to be a lie, you will be banned. If all you have to say about the topic is that God is real and there is no way around it, please spare me and move it to another debate.

This debate is for all religious people: Please share with me how you would feel and react if suddenly one day was proven beyond any doubt whatsoever that religion and god was a lie, and there was absolutely no life after death, or any cause to our existence.

If God was a lie than there will be a lot of people left without jobs, a lot of fearless people, a lot of crime and a lot less bedtime stories.

The truth is people have turned God into a Fear and a Business.

Humanity perpetually questions cause of existence, so without cause the question will simply be asked once per person.

The premise is that religion and god are both the lie at the same time. Creates the basic principle of religion being the lie, and not the fact of sharing beliefs publicly.

I would laugh my ass off ;)

If religion turns out to be a prank. 1st off I know its true and I have more than sufficient evidence of Him and His word.

But if we were duped, we would have lived life, sang songs, built relationships surrounding sound advise, and treated family and friends like life was more important than things, and that relationships were more important than chasing academia and success.

And success would be a byproduct of goodness thst governs what we do. We would be a people who loved good, kept commitments, and respected the lives of people around us, especially those with wisdom that comes with aging.

We would smile when we helped each other in life and through tragedies, like in Loisianna, out of floods that took possessions and things and they still loved and laughed in the midst of adverdity, with our dumb Christian hope as we live joyously in faith hope and love.

To wake up and be no God, I think we would still choose uo live as though there were a God. Because living for God raises us to be the best of humanity, light snd salt.

But if atheists find there is a God, I think they will be quite embarrassed at most things. And I dont think comparatively their lives would be quick to be repeated.

One seems full because of God, whether true or not.

The other seems empty without God.

Mass suicide .

If the religious were ever faced with that degree of persuasive proof then I think 1/3 would accept it and move on, 1/3 would simply doubt it and stay somewhere in the middle of the subject just in case maybe there really is a god, and 1/3 would be in full denial and would go batsh!t nuclear about why it isn't a prank and those who think it is will be very sorry.

Members of this site fall into all three of those camps.

I honestly think I'd feel a little lost. Some things that help people get through horrible circumstances - the death of a child, the death of a loved one, a bad series of events that are challenging - is the belief that there is something bigger out there; that they will be reunited with their kin or loved one. I think if that's taken away you'd have a problem with people just giving up. Either giving up being a good person or giving up on life.

Others would find something else to believe in, others still wouldn't accept any proof that contradicts what they believe. I don't think it would be anything to cheer or jeer, there would be a lot of people who just....feel lost. And that's not a good feeling.

I'll humor you for a moment ! 270,000 Muslims live in Denmark. You dare to take "What if it turns out Religion is just a big prank?" to the Muslim population in Denmark ? If you do good luck with that !

You are asking what the pranksters would do if they were exposed? They'd do anything to keep it going, that's what.

Its because of religion or God i don't do a lot of things. If i ignore religion,i am a carnal minded person.

The reason i don't quickly pull out a knife in a fight(though it presses my mind), The reason i respect a woman with all my filthy Mind(aggresive behaviour in my thinking), The reason i say sorry even when i feel too proud, The reason i tolerate some kinda people, the reason i don't disrespect authories(Cos i think authority is just uniform, clothes or attire on ordinary man), The reason why i work hard and fail yet have hope: simply the reason why am stressing my savage killer instincts is because of religion or God in my mind.

THE DAY I LOOSE OR IGNORE IT(religion), I DON'T KNOW WHERE I WILL START FROM BUT I KNOW I WILL SURELY END IN PRISON.

I WONDER HOW MANY CLONES OF SUCH MENTALITY ARE IN THE WORLD

If God and religion turned out to be a lie then life would ultimately be meaningless and have no value. Morals wouldn't exist. Everybody would be doing whatever they wanted as long as they don't harm anybody else.

"If God and religion turned out to be a lie then life would ultimately be meaningless and have no value."

Do you value your friends and family? Would you stop valuing them if you found out god didn't exist? If the answer is no, then a god isn't necessary for life to be valuable.

I agree, I think without God, it is the Christians that have no morals

2 points

Not true. We have laws, norms and mores that shape our behavior that have been around long before Judaism, Christianity, Islam and all the other religions came into being.

Damn! I love it when I can agree with someone I usually disagree with! HighFalutin .... cheers!

One reason I am NOT a Christian is because they seem to be so cruel and unforgiving ...wait a minute, that's TWO reasons.

Are atheists are without morals in your opinion ?

The only good that ever came to man was influenced by light and salt. Many are in belief that truth is subjective. And think that mankind is good.

But in reality, the worst violence ever brought were men in opposition to God, His ways, and His people, Jews and Christians.

While making every conspiracy known to man in attempts to subdue and rule all. Even in everyday life, men without fear of God in many cultures and classes are the rot in every way throughout all of society.

And the more immoral, the quicker its fall.

So much so, that it is a high point of infiltration in taking down nations. Literally a bullet point to take down societies and nations!

Your idealism is merely your own pleasant good mind fooling you to see a rose colored picture that doesn't exist.

Without faith we would not have had the 1000s of years we have had. Because God's people, both the church and Israel in the world, have actually built everything good in the world, while evil men have taken it by force and steering.

The whole thing is a war between good and evil. And we salt and light have kept evil at bay. But now even our influence has waned. So as the light goes out, darkness right?

How dark is it getting? Do you have spiritual discernment? Or is your mind darkened?

Less salt, now it's not salty enough, now it is rotting. Eyes to see, ears to hear?

He is coming soon! Then what?

So as nice as you are, you have been influenced by a culture, not just America. I mean God's people who were just and fair, while bringing the best of humanity through YHWY and Yushua to be a strength and a hope in even the darkest of times.

Now I don't expect you to see that. But its actually the truth!
