IOS vs Android
There are a lot of people who think that only Apple has the best operating system, but they do not take a look at the others system. I say about the most popular operatins system in the world - Android.

Android phones (based of Samsung Galaxy S III, just for this paragraph) don't work if you drop them at ear level (they wont turn on), unlike the Apple iPhone 5, were you can drop it from ear level and the phone will still turn on (sure it will crack, but all phones do that, even your beloved android). Side: IOS
All Google Now does is show you Google searches. That's not invitational, it is just using the microphone all phones have. Siri, on the other hand, is way more creative and at times more functional than Google Now. They both have their perks, but they (comparing their pros and cons) are about the same, so don't hate on Siri without hating on Google Now as well. Side: IOS
Updating to the latest OS is a good thing, If you don't want to update, you don't have to. I have a relative who is still enjoying iOS 5 because she CHOSE not to upgrade, while I am enjoying iOS 6 because is did CHOOSE to upgrade. At least iPhones get every update from Apple without being restricted by the cell phone companies like Android does. Plus, as time goes on, more apps will be available for your phone after a software update. The same applies for android devices, so your argument is invalid, as it also happens with Android devices very often. Side: IOS
If your new iPhone 5 has a scratch, get a replacement, I am sure you would have noticed by the time you got home. If you bought it from an 3rd Party store, They will most likely have a 30- day to a year return policy. Apple I'm sure will give you a new phone if you got them as soon as you noticed. In addition, if you drop your iPhone 5, the scratches on the back will easily rub off and the screen might scratch (1: get a screen protector, that is what they are for, 2: all phones will scratch, so your argument of the wear and tear of the iPhone 5 is invalid, as it happens to the android phone as well. Android phones are not invincible, being made out of plastic and all) Side: IOS
iPhone is much more simplistic. My dad, who is new to smartphones, got his first iPhone, and he loves it. At least more than he did his other two android phones. He got a used iPhone 3GS and it worked better than the two combined. The two phones both turned off randomly and hardly retained any battery for 30 minutes after a good long charge. Also, the androids were too complex for him he said, and the iPhone was far more simple and easier to use (same thing, just making it clear). The phone does not turn off randomly and his calls are clear. Side: IOS
Android phones need to be protected from the countless viruses out there. Unfortunately, I lost an android tablet to a virus. I returned it, got a new tablet (they could not repair my old one, so they just sent me a new tablet), and sold it for $40, since I hated that over-priced piece of wasted dust so much (all I was doing was reading a book when it got the random virus). The iPhone can get either no viruses or a very few, unlike Android phones. I have had two iPod Touches (i lost my second one; that was my fault, not the iPod's, just to make that clear), and not of them have disappointed me. Unlike the three android devices I was able to afford. Side: IOS
Android devices can easily be skinned to the point of discomfort. whereas the iPhone does not get skinned. Jailbreak if you want to change the look. But for Android, you HAVE to root (essentially jailbreak for iPhone) your Android phone and turn it to what it is actually supposed to be, or skin it to what you want. Side: IOS
As mentioned before (I think), Android comes with a lot of crapware, which will take time to take off before you can enjoy your phone. the iPhone is not pre-loaded with anything, so you can do as you please with your iPhone as soon as you open the box (and charge it, since it is illegal to ship or package electronics with full batteries) and set it up with those easy steps to set up that are made clear as soon as you turn on your phone.
