IS THERE LIFE AFTER DEATH?
BEFORE WE START, CAN WE ALL ASSUME THAT WE UNDERSTAND THAT THE PHRASE "LIFE AFTER DEATH" CAN BE SEEN AS A CONTRADICTION. THAT WAY WE SAVE ALL THE LITTLE SMARTARSES SAYING "ooooh how can there be life after death" etc etc.
DO WE LIVE ON IN SOME OTHER FORM AFTER DEATH?

Several theories: Your children are direct descendents of you, so as long as your bloodline continues that is some form of your life after death. That includes anything you left them as it is a continuation.. Energy is never created or never ceases to exists.. it only changes it's form. When you die, your energy disperses into the surroundings. The soul and your conciousness is 2 completely arguable things and isn't for a sceptic so I'm gonig to leave that out of here. Side: yes

Life after death? Not likely. All that we know tells us that death is the end of life. Only religion persists in this fantasy. This exploits our fear of death or the unknown. Life after death assumes the persistence of an entity that remains alive after we are dead. That entity is commonly understood to be the soul or spirit. But this is yet another fantasy because all we know tells us that the brains of men, and indeed of most species, is what gives us the sensation of being alive. Upon death, the brain stops functioning and accordingly, we cease to exist. Full stop. Side: No

I agree when you die you're dead that's it. But what is the purpose of life if we live on in this world the way it is? Dying, killing, getting sick etc. There has to be something. Don't you think.. 'The dead are conscious of nothing at all' but it doesn't mean there is nothing left at all. There is a purpose for the earth. If GOD is loving, kind, just etc why would he create such things as humans just to see us be tormented for eternity. There is no 'life after death' but there is a hope of something else. Side: yes

The purpose of life is different for everybody and I believe that you figure out the meaning of life and your purpose in it shortly before you die. Death is inevitable to all living things. If there is something beyond death like another life then it wouldn't be death it would be reincarnation. But it's physically and molecularly impossible to transform into something else like that. God would want to see us suffer and torment each other because to Him it's probably entertaining- if He created humans who always agreed with each other then it would be like a story without a conflict. which leads into another debate Is God real? And no he's not. I believe in science and facts and proof. Side: No
