Churchill was liberal for his time. Believed in socialized medicine, hated blind nationalism, backed the formation of a United States of Europe. Despised the crafty bastards in the Tory party who wanted him to settle terms with the Nazis, and won the support of Parliament by actually asking the people of the country what they wanted. Can't think of many politicians who tried that last one there. Side: didn't
Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill, KG, OM, CH, TD, PC, DL, FRS, RA (30 November 1874 – 24 January 1965) was a British statesman, army officer, and writer, who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951 to 1955. Over the course of his career as a Member of Parliament (MP), he represented five constituencies in both England and Scotland. During his time as Prime Minister, Churchill led Britain to an allied victory in the Second World War. He was Conservative Party leader from 1940 to 1955. In 1953, Churchill won the Nobel Prize in Literature for his lifetime body of work; the prize cited "his mastery of historical and biographical description as well as for brilliant oratory in defending exalted human values". You cannot hate the guy who defeats you, you can only envy them. Hate implies you had the option to like them at all. Hate is something you let yourself feel, envy can't be escaped. Churchill's IQ was lower than Hitler's by a large margin, he was fat, ugly and his charisma left a lot to be desired while Hitler was brilliant on all counts of this. Imagine how it feels for an uglier, dumber, less charming person to be the face of the forces that brought you down while you and your regime crumbles before them. That means you got outplayed so severely that all his natural disadvantages were overcome to end up superior to you. Envy is envy but hate isn't a politician's game. Side: didn't
