I have the solution, of course.

Hello:

1.  Cops killing black people???

(A).  REVAMP.  Like Reagan did, FIRE 'em all, EVERYWHERE, and start over..  God knows, there's plenty of people who have time on their hands.

2.  Speaking of people who have time on their hands, instead of paying them $$600/wk to do NOTHING, put 'em to work restoring some of our infrastructure.  What??

3.  Of course, I've written about how the restaurant industry ought to be bailed out..  Did I mention all those people who are UNEMPLOYED??

I think that it should be advocated in minority communities that they need to over-represent themselves in the system - be cops, lawyers, judges, and where possible state representatives, etc.

Not only will it make it more likely that someone would be around in that situation who would put a stop to it, but having more day-to-day interactions with minorities would lessen the probability that a cop would dehumanize the person enough to let things go as far.

It certainly wouldn't solve everything (Black-cop/Black-victim, systemic bias in other areas, police weapons, tactics, training, etc.), but it would help mitigate discrepancies in prosecutions, sentencing, and even give more legitimacy to valid uses-of-force where people assume an underlying bias.

It won't do any good. The Democrats have called black people racist, and would call them racists simply for being cops. That's how evil these pieces of shit are.

"would call them racists simply for being cops"

Some do, most don't. And the ones that do are basing it on their experience.

It's also not a left-wing thing; most conservatives, independents, and non-political people recognize that some of the uses of force have been excessive.

I like your mention about having cops do things in the community - the more those can help socialize the cop to the community and vice-versa, the better. And, they should probably take care not to replace too many wage-paying jobs, but allowing cops one paid day a month to work for a charity like Habitat For Humanity could be psychologically good for cops while simultaneously good for communities.

Proposals to make policing more acceptable to the black community, and indeed the general public at large, should be explored.

Positive discrimination is a system of recruitment which endeavours to ensure that the police force in any particular precinct proportionally represents the ethnic background of the community in which it serves.

In order to achieve proportional representation such a procedure could, and probably would on occasions involve the most suitable candidate's application being turned down in favour of a member of a racial minority group.

Would this be acceptable or would it cause more problems than it solved?

The phased ousting of racially motivated cops should start immediately combined with an intensive training programme which should concentrate on non-racial discrimination policing tactics.

Not only should the law be administered impartially and even-handedly but to be seen to do so.

Which aspect concerning the current murder case in Minneapolis let's you know that the murder was racially motivated?

Your solution of firing them all resembles a final solution I once heard about. You can't punish this individual for the actions of that individual. That's how we get racism, anti-Semitism, and all the other forms of collectivist bigotry. That's how we get so divided that cities burn. An actual start to an actual solution would be for you to stop being part of the problem.

Are you a fucking idiot? Making a bunch of cops temporarily redundant has no relationship to gassing Jews and Communists. That's absolutely stupid.

You're a goddamned moron.

Hello Amarel:

Nahhh.. You think it's like the the holocaust??? DUDE! It's way more like when Ronald Reagan fired ALL the air traffic controllers, and started afresh..

You remember that, don't you?

Firing everyone who refuses to work isn't the same as firing everyone of a given profession. The resemblance is in your elimination of an entire category of people based on the actions of a few. It is completely irrational to fire Joe Cop in Colorado because Officer Murderer killed a man in Minnesota.

It's the same kind of irrationality that has some folks saying "I got mugged by a black guy so I hate black guys" or "I got racially profiled by an asian clerk so I hate Asians" or "I specifically seek Youtube videos of cops appearing to act incorrectly so I hate cops". It's all the same logical fallacy that lies at the root of racism. Stop committing that fallacy.
