Civilized speech is good. This topic seems to be about political correctness or civilized speech. Free speech is being pincer attacked by three main directions in my opinion.

First, conservative political correctness. I think rationalwiki does a good job describing the issue.

Yes, there is conservative political correctness. I don't want to see anyone getting banned for being anti-Christian or christianophobia. Let alone saying that evolution is true. There is a vocal minority that think evolution dehumanizes.

Second, there is liberal political correctness going too far. Liberals use different terms. Puritanical, outrage culture, out-woking, hypersensitivity, etc. That's why I am here, got shunned on main stream sites by liberals overreacting in my opinion.

I was making an anti-racist comment, but it came off as tone deaf. The irony is it can be difficult to tell the difference between anti-racist comment and racist. Annoying we are told talking about race is racist then we are told white silence is violence, so then we talk.

Except, after being silent our entire life we will end up coming off as more a member of the KKK then anti-racist.

Third, is the firehose of misinformation. Yes, as Steven Bannon put it "flooding the zone with expletive" The gish gallop and firehose of hate and disinformation. A good example is the disinformation dozen and toxic ten. Russian troll factories, paid trolls, and bots.

To recap, conservative political correctness, liberal out-woking, and the firehose of disinformation and hate.

The ideal website takes in all three into account. I don't have the resources to run a website but I wouldn't tolerate certain words like the six letter n word for starters.

Another example, I've seen people on mainstream sites get vilified and abandoned for something as simple as forgetting to capitalize the b in Black people just once. Once?! Seriously, that's enough to be perma-banned and/or shunned? Won't make the news like someone getting fired though.

On the other hand if after repeated reminding the person refused to capitalize the B the person is just being a total jerk.

To summarize ideally, conservative political correctness is ridiculous and hypocritical. Liberals can overreact harming the anti-racist cause. The firehose of disinformation of hate has to stop. Civilized speech is good.
