I think Quadeca is going in the wrong direction stylistically

Be sure to focus on her raps about her life and struggle, also to understand her metaphors as a mocked and shunned female artist in an industry that was always more sexist than it was racist Yes, let's be sure to confuse the giant chip on her shoulder with poetry. Also, let's forget about the fact that many of the most popular music artists of all time have been women. 1

I was speaking of rap, not music of other genres That isn't true. You have been making comments all day and night that rap is more poetic than other forms of music and one of your favourite rap artists is Niki Minaj. Your attempts to distance yourself from your own ridiculous comments are a little bit late. The fact of the matter is that you are ignorant about just about every topic which is ever discussed on this forum, and music is no exception. No rational human being who has ever been exposed to poetry could confuse Nicki Minaj with an actual poet. Example:- "I get it cracking like a bad back. Bitch talkin she the queen when she looking like a lab rat. I'm Angelina, you Jennifer come on bitch you see where Brad at?" If you turned up at a poetry convention and recited that, you'd either be arrested or laughed out of the building. 1

If you played Jazz at a poetry convention, you'd have to be Ramshutu Jazz poetry is an actual genre of poetry. When you don't understand something, it is reading and not writing which you should be doing:- Jazz poetry is a literary genre defined as poetry necessarily informed by jazz music—that is, poetry in which the poet responds to and writes about jazz. ... From early blues to free jazz to experimental music, jazz poets use their appreciation for the music as poetic inspiration. 1

I was speaking of rap, not music of other genres I think I misunderstood what you meant here, so my apologies for that. On the other hand, you are still very wrong. Rap is part of the music industry, not a separate industry which you can remove and label "sexist" out of convenience. Some hugely successful female rap/hip hop artists of the early days of rap include: Missy Elliot, Lil' Kim, Lauryn Hill, Queen Latifah, Yo-Yo, Salt and Pepper, MC Lyte, Monie Love, Bahamadia, Foxy Brown and Erykah Badu. And every single one of them failed brutally until Minaj came along. Minaj made it genuinely viable to be a female who raps and isn't bullied out of the industry for being a slag, she learned to own that identity and Lil Wayne was her emotional rock during a lot of really nasty situations where she was truly sad from the bullying. You don't know shit about it because you don't fanboy her like I do. 1

Your list lacks the best female rappers. First, "best" is a matter of opinion. Second, my list is not a list of the greatest female rappers. It is a list of female rappers who became very successful in the music industry before Nicki Minaj came on the scene. Please just shut up. You're ignorant about music. Rap is the most shallow and uncomplex form of music which has ever been invented by the human race and that is just a fact. It is music for brainless thugs and idiots, which can be exemplified by the fact that 90 percent of the lyrics are about killing people, drugs, bitches or the pimping industry. |
