If America falls, which country is in the best position to fill that power vacum?

The Russians are trying to make a come back.

The Chinese haven't progressed much past 1890 in raising the standard of living of their people.

The Japanese and the Germans are not the economic power houses they used to be.

North Korea and Iran are poised to obtain nuclear weapons.

May God help us if America falls. Whoever replaces us may be far worse. But then again, I'm a pessimist ;)

Russia will certainly fill that vaccuum due to its huge natural resources and intellectual potential.

This is Russia wrapped up in a bundle. Following history, Russia is a country full of strong doltish people. They are able to defeat an enemy one on one, but in a war for instance they are able to out number their enemy and still lose. They are the bravest of the brave but definitely not intellectual

Canada. They're the non-violent, smarter America with less people. As soon as the USA falls, Canada is going to have to make a ballsy border policy. It'll be like our current problem with Mexico, except we'll be the illegal immigrants~

Side: Canada

America cannot fall...I don't think the world would allow them to. If they do, I say Canada or Russia...but I'm going home to where I was born...Berlin, Germany!

Most of the countries you described are ran by maniacs.

so, i say Israel. They're small, sure, but they're badass as fuck and don't take shit from anyone.

the only country in this world that i would trust to be the next superpower is Israel (and Japan... maybe if Japan, Ireland and Israel all teamed up... that would be fuckin awesome)

You are right, but one problem is the U.S. is number one aid supplier for Israel. It will be a lot harder for Israel but they can do it.

I would give it to the Russians! The Russians have a numerous amount of natural resources AND nukes with a decent army. I'd say that they would fill the void.

I was watching this interesting program on History channel last night about Nostradamus and this professor from Yale and Nyu which came up with an algorithm that has a 90% proficiency to predict things such as this. I really wish I could remember his name!

Either way, if US, what you call America, fails it will stir up so much shit I don't think we would have to worry about economics as much as military might. As tensions and the scarcity of natural resources increase, it would fall onto those who can compete with the US military might.

This link is interesting, but it doesn't take into account technology. I looked a little further and to my surprise noticed much competition in air superiority among the top countries.

Side: russia

I saw the same show. BTW, if America falls, it will be because of its economy. An economic failure would mean that it would no longer be able to wage war. This would nollify our technological edge.

What kind of bullcrap is "Chinese hasn't progressed much"

That statement is wrong from the beginning.

There are tons of rich people in China and u dont call that progress? Why r u measuring things by itself including its surroundsings. Are you America?

Side: russia

I'm just repeating what the show said. Basically that in over 100 years China hasn't progressed much. The ratio of rich people to poor people in China has not changed much. Yeah, there are lots more rich people in China now than in 1890 but there are also a lot more poor people as well. The number of rich people did not increase faster than the number of poor people.
