Most economists I know of have been predicting another recession since last year. The coronavirus might well be the catalyst for it. Well he is running out of options. Tax cuts and lower interest rates. He has already added $2T to the deficit through hi tax cuts. Let's be fair coronavirus is not his fault. Saudis dropping oil price and flooding the market with oil si a nationalist move on their part, because Russia would not agree to participate in the cartel of lowering production. It was has been a republican senate the entire time, and a republican house for half the time. I don't see how this is all democrats. When the republicans ran both houses, with Trump the deficit still jumped 17& Historically it is Republican presidents who cause deficits. Reagan doubled his deficit Bush doubled that Clinton got it to 0 Buish got it to 1.2 Trillion Obama halved it Now Trump is looking to more than double it.
