Not in every case. For example, let's assume we have a teacher and we have two students. The teachers asks "What's 9 + 10?". One kid answers "21" and the other says "19". The incorrect student has no obligation morally, socially, or ethically to apologize for the error. He simply corrects himself and learns the proper response. Side: No
An apology is not needed ALL the time. It depends on how the person is wrong. If they did something bad to cause another upset, then yes an apology is definitely needed. However, if they answered a general question wrong at school, then an apology probably is necessary. Side: No
