Disarming the good Guys does not have to encompass the police, and indeed should not include any law enforcement agency. Everyone, well everyone with any wit knows that fewer guns will equate to fewer deaths by guns. America is the only nation on Earth where the citizens can buy guns without meticulous profiling. What reason do you have for wishing to own a firearm? Is there a safe and secure place in which the firearm can be stored? Will any other member of your household have access to the firearm. In most other advanced and civilized countries firearms are not issued to it's citizens if they cannot cite an acceptable reason(s) for wishing to own one. The multiple deaths of children and many others is due of the power of the N.R.A., and it's army of paid politicians who block attempts to expunge this nation of the array of deadly weapons the numbers of which exceed the population total. The penalty for possessing an unlicensed firearm should carry a mandatory custodial sentence and for the convicted offender to be placed on a permanent dangerous criminal register. With so many lunatics running free in America it's only a matter of time before gun ownership will have to be more stringently controlled and such a regulation would best be implemented sooner rather than later. The right wing notion that one is armed for the purpose of using violence to get your way in the political process, is nuts.. That message is, your political opponents need to worry that you'll pump their bodies full of lead if they cross you. In fact, that’s the whole POINT of the second amendment - to instill fear. It's your belief that people should be able to murder agents of the state en masse if it comes to that. This is obviously a DERANGED reading of the 2nd Amendment, but it casts a very long and ominous shadow over our politics right now. Well, If I was gonna disarm somebody, I wouldn't stop at disarming the good guys.. I'd disarm everybody Another solution from the left that can only be inacted by wiggling your nose, saying abracadabra or waving a magic wand. Gun nuts will have ONE year to voluntarily turn in their guns.. After that, we'll adopt the GUN version of the Texas abortion law.. Rewards will be given to anybody who snitches on a gun holder. The more guns confiscated, the higher the reward. Jail sentences will be handed out if you DON'T snitch. If it works for abortion, it'll work for guns.
