If we wanted a country that got along, we'd pass laws that most people support.

Hello:

But, we don't..  Instead, we pass laws that only a few people support..  Is that a good way to run a country?

it is from the perspective of those who benefit from division (i.e. those who run the country). and the opinions of the rest of us hardly matter.

Hello J:

I agree.. What do we do about it - accept it, fix it, or move?

You already moved away from a deep blue state. Then you moved to a redish state, turned it blue, and are gonna bitch about blue policies while voting for them again like a god damned moron.

Agreed. We have a vocal minority of influential people driving the agenda for the majority. The reason they get away with it is because the majority is silent. But now, I think they are finally waking up. Parents getting more actively involved in schools and countering the hate America, racial divide game the left is playing in the every-day curriculum being taught to their kids. They've poked mama bear and she is not happy. A change is gonna come.

Hello H:

How long we been doing this?? 5 years or so??? Seems by this time, you'd know that I'm a typical leftist. Also, seems you'd know that I too, LOVE my country..

So, lemme ask you this. Are you soooooo embedded in the right wing cult, that you can't believe your lying eyes??

But, you ain't gonna engage me, are you?? You never do.. You just show up now and again, to speak platitudes. I have no idea how you think that advances your cause..

Excon, you love the USA so much .... that you moved to live in Mexico. I have openly offered to engage with you. Unfortunately, you choose to run away from debate. Why are you even on this website?!? It makes absolutely no sense. All that you offer here is childish remarks and worthless insults.

Booing Trump at his rally is the opposite of a cult. Do you actually know what a cult is? Collectivists have a bad track record of being in them.

Unpopular laws are usually counter-productive and can cultivate feelings of anti-establishment that in turn invariably leads to increased criminality.

To take your point a step further we should endeavour to establish a 'self-regulating' society with a citizen's ''code of practise'' being published for the civilized and harmonious coexistence of all our people.

Strict laws, harshly or unfairly administered have a negative affect on the lifestyles of the society they were intended to improve.
