Should I discount everything I learned from him? If something is true, it doesn’t matter who said it. However, if this persons misdeeds could have had an impact on the message, take a look at the message, to see if it is in fact true. Mind the message over the messenger. That’s how you avoid the ad hominem fallacy. Side: Of course
As long as the technique isn't used for something bad, then sure. There are plenty of things that people have said that were very insightful and had a good lessen or message to it, but then we find out that the person did terrible things. I can't say that makes the good things said less relevant, but it does add a grain of salt to the message. Side: Of course

Just read about this course on wikipedia Why not use it? Many bad people have invented good things; its not as if this course taught you how to be a child molester. From what I understood the course was about discipline and being yourselfn where is the wrong in that? Side: Of course
