If your tags are expired, is it better to get a ticket in the mail, or get pulled over?
Hello:
Cops
say the most dangerous interactions with the public are traffic stops.
So, for minor infractions, why don't we just stop doing that? We have
the technology. Red light cameras are everywhere.
Seems like BOTH motorists AND cops would be wayyy safer. No?
Well, this raises a number of questions including, if the offending motorist fails to abide by the postal ruling of the court and continues to use their vehicle when banned, without insurance or a valid driving permit/licence and kills someone while driving would the relevant police department be guilty of negligence of duty and open to being sued.
Who is going to call at the offenders home to enforce the penalties imposed by the courts?
Would such a visit not be just as liable to cause potential acts of violence by the offender at least as severe or even worse than those that may be experienced by effecting a pull-over?
I am of the opinion that if an A.L.P.R., check reveals that a driver and/or their vehicle is illegally on a public highway and the patrol officer permits the perp to continue unchecked on their journey illegally the cop is complicit in the crime and therefore automatically implicated in results of accident.
More and more America is becoming a LAWLESS NATION due to wokism, fear of black violence or the individuals and administrators of our law enforcement agencies being labeled as RACISTS.

Hello N:
Nahh.. There's no material difference between an offender being HANDED a ticket or receiving it in the mail. If he's gonna cheat, he's gonna cheat no matter HOW he got the ticket.
True to form you're missing the very obvious point which is beaming brightly from my reply, and as usual ignoring all the other possible ramifications stemming from an illegal driver being allowed to drive unlawfully on a public highway.
Your refusal to address the potential dangers of permitting a motorist and/or their vehicle to be illegally on the road may be due to selective blindness or just your regular BUCK STANDARD STUPIDITY.
I repeat, there's NO material difference between having a ticket HANDED to you in person, or having it mailed to you by the Post Office..
Yes there is. If a cop hands me a ticket for no rational reason, I can get his badge number and go to court. If Big brother sends me a ticket for no rational reason, there's no one I can call out.

You're honestly wasting your time arguing with anybody this stupid. Obviously there's a material difference between being handed a ticket, where there's proof you received it, and having one mailed to you, where there's no proof you received it. You're arguing with a retard. A retard who thinks if he shouts stuff at you it makes him right.

Hello hater:
I say again, there is no material difference between a ticket handed to you by a cop, than one mailed to you by the city.
The town of Paradise Valley, Az, clocks your speed AND takes your picture. I'm sure all of 'em do. I should have mentioned it before, but, honestly, I had NO IDEA that I'd get any pushback.
You'll like this one, hater. I used to drive professionally in Paradise Valley. I carried a Bozo the Clown mask under my seat, just so I could wear it while I blasted through their speed trap. When I went to court, I told them I didn't know this Bozo.

Hello Pox:
Yes, there is.. He's called the judge.
I repeat.. There is NO material difference between a ticket handed to you one a machine mailed..
In this great land of ours, the ticket, no matter who or what issued it, can be challenged in court. The state MUST prove your guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. If, as you say, there's no rational reason for the ticket to have been issued, the real live person called the DA can't prove it, and you'll WIN..
The point is;- If a tag check identifies that a vehicle's registration shows up as
being expired and therefore more likely than not uninsured, as well as its recorded keeper, who is odds-on to also be the driver, has been banned for D.U.I., but the cop does not stop the continuation of these illegalities by forthwith denying the driver continued use of the illegal vehicle, then the officer is in shameful dereliction of his duty.
Should the offending driver be involved in, let's say a fatal accident 100 yards up the road then the negligent officer has aided and abetted the offender.
The other point is that if the offender does not comply with the postal sentence for their crime and a home visit is therefore necessitated the probability of aggression being shown by the perpetrator is as likely, if not more so at their their residence where there could be a greater availability of lethal weaponry than at the roadside.
