Some people will, and some people will not agree with the speculative interpretation Adorno and Horkheimer make of mankind's use/misuse of scientific achievements and their arrogant assertion that people are hardwired to orientate towards fascism. Their first false declaration degrades people's ability to reason logically for themselves and their second erroneous statement is no more than a thinly veiled promotion of the failed political ideology of left wing socialism. But my dear little wannabe intellectual, here's the rub;- on behalf of your two Don Quixote type academics you have issued a number of what you presumably perceive as problems, but in common with all starry-eyed romanticists you, and they failed to provide any recommendations to solve their real or imagined plight of mankind. Side: Vietnam
Said like a man whose education was entirely "self-pursued". The know all of know alls, quick to quip cynical and wax lyrical about the flaws inherent in academic intellectualism, yet never having the sauce to get himself well versed in it beyond the rudimentary knowledge necessary to write it off. You're exactly the sophist, populist, piece-of-shit the OP is referring to. So fragile in your own ego you take to belittling people on the basis of race, income and the virtues of aspiration and hope (of which you lack any). What a horrible little micropenis you must be. speculative interpretation That's an obnoxiously false statement and made even more laughable by the glaringly obvious fact you had never even heard of Adorno or Horkheimer before you decided to use this topic as a platform for your pointless personal attacks. Adorno and Horkheimer produced probably the most comprehensive analysis of the history of reason presently available in academia.
Their first false declaration degrades people's ability to reason logically for themselves They would have been the very first to explicate how you are making an argument to emotion, which is a form of logical fallacy. You want people to be angry at the "degradation of their ability to reason logically for themselves", but in actual fact, what Adorno and Horkheimer argued is that it is precisely this ability which leads the species to its antithesis in the first place. Hence, you are inventing your own argument, claiming it is their argument (since you obviously haven't read their work), and then attacking it with an appeal to emotion. Since you have furthermore padded out your astonishingly fallacious diatribe with the most formal language you could extract from the online thesaurus, one can only conclude that your intent is to hide your fallacies in places where they are not easily visible. Consequently, we are able to determine that you are pretending to understand the topic as best you can in order to sell us precisely the same lamentable brand of populism which Adorno and Horkheimer categorised as the breakdown of reason in the first place (i.e. they studied the populism which drove Nazi Germany). In sum, idiocy I have sympathy for. Hatred and dishonesty I am not so quick to forgive, especially when they form the very basis of the criticism levelled by the same scholars you baselessly claim are guilty of "speculative interpretation". That's just plain stupid because you are proving them right, aren't you? You came in here, abandoned reason, smeared Adorno and Horkheimer and expressed your disgust at them -- according to you -- "degrading" people. You're stupid and that's the reality of the matter. I'm banning you because you're clearly only here to attack. Side: Korea
