I wish the article went into more depth regarding political affiliations and science. Seems a little iffy that the only reference (that I could find at least) on it is a just about 40 year old study without a citation.

I've always heard that in marketing / sales, people buy on 95% emotion and 5% rationale, I think politics is similar, especially on the left.

I'd sooner say especially on the right.

But I do see it happening ever so often amongst both sides.

Americans are so obstinate they can't even see the facts right in front of them.
